Catalinas Diamond and Magic Stella set the standard on form but they both look vulnerable to any above average newcomers. One who could fit the bill is Henry Cecil's NORDIC SPRUCE who makes plenty of appeal on breeding and hails from a yard that is more than capable of readying a newcomer to strike. Scantily Clad, Carrignavar and Silent Serenade are other debutantes to consider and the betting market is likely to provide the best guide as to what is expected of them.
Catalinas Diamond has already shown more than enough to win a maiden, her form far superior to the others with experience, Magic Stella included. It could well be that one of the newcomers gives her most to do, Henry Cecil's Nordic Spruce making particular appeal.

ROSILIANT is still a maiden after 10 attempts but she posted her best effort yet when runner-up over 6f at Brighton last month and a reproduction of that performance would give her a big chance this afternoon. Many A Slip has been out of form so far this term but makes plenty of appeal on the pick of his juvenile form and is worthy of consideration along with handicap and seasonal debutante Rosetta Hill.
Rosiliant posted a personal best when second at Brighton last time and ought to go one better in this weak handicap. Batgirl and Musical Delight arguably have a bit more going for them than any of the rest.

King Of Swords is on an attractive mark and is likely to take advantage before long but his best form is on stiffer tracks and, as a result, preference is for LORD OF THE REINS on this occasion. James' Given's representative is rated 10lb lower on turf than on the all-weather and this race should be run to suit so he can mow down his opponents in the closing stages. Vhujon, Select Committee and Simple Rhythm could also figure.
Vhujon is 13 lb below his last winning mark and was unlucky over C&D last Saturday, finishing with a flourish having met trouble in running. He had King of Swords and Baby Queen just behind him that day and that pair are predicted to scrap it out for the minor honours.

This is tougher than the race which DREAM SPINNER won over this C&D last month but he showed a good attitude to score on that occasion and a 3lb rise looks fair so he should go close again. Montparnasse has been raised 5lb for his handicap debut success over 1m4f at Windsor but that might not stop him from laying down another bold challenge with Sir Michael Stoute's Istidlaal also commanding respect on his first foray into handicap company.
Windsor-winner Montparnasse is likely to stay this longer trip and is expected to follow up at the chief expense of Dream Spinner, the latter making all when successful over C&D last time and a dangerous opponent if again allowed to dictate.

Guga disappointed at Bath last time when bidding for a hat-trick but he is respected now dropping into plating company. However, it could pay to side with FRANK STREET who has been performing with credit over 6f of late and has shaped as though the step up to this trip could be just what he needs to get off the mark. Of the others, Magenta Strait makes some appeal for each-way purposes.
Frank Street and Guga could have this between themselves, preference marginally for the former trying 1m for the first time. Marafong isn't out of it if on a 'going' day.

TALAYEB is very lightly raced and, whilst he is still a maiden after 10 outings, he has shown more than enough ability to suggest he can make an impact here off a mark of just 69. Classic Descent comes into this in good heart and should continue to give a good account. Lujano shaped as though a return to top form was imminent last time and he is capable of taking a hand.
Classic Descent has been knocking on the door of late and just gets the verdict over last week's Carlisle seller winner Bell's Ocean. All 5 of Kildare Sun's wins have come on the AW, nor has he shown much this year, but he was placed off higher marks on turf last year and could figure if bouncing back to form.
