It's probably worth giving another chance to RIVER ARDECHE, whose attempts to make all at Sedgefield last month ended when he fell two out. He might have been reaching the end of his tether then but he's subsequently proved his well-being by winning on the all-weather at Southwell and is worth supporting back over timber. Last month's Hexham scorer Sydney Cove hasn't been disgraced in two starts since, while King's Chorister has claims off this mark on his best form.
Dzesmin has shown more than the form figures imply in recent starts, and is fancied to take advantage of a declining mark. King's Chorister and handicap-debutant Frosty Lad are others to consider.

Hard to see beyond BLENHEIM BROOK for the answer to this. Second in all three starts over fences so far, he's got close each time and looks set to the break his duck over the bigger obstacles today. Mac Aeda fell first time out over fences and struggled next time at Wetherby but he looks to be improving and could lead the rest home. Negus De Beaumont has claims on his best chasing form but lacks consistency.
Bleinheim Brook has been runner-up on all 3 starts since sent chasing this season and should make no mistake this time. Presque Perdre jumped soundly on last month's chase debut and could well pose the main threat.

TEENAGE IDOL also holds an engagement at Haydock but if he turns up here, he could take all the beating. He's 19lb higher than his last winning mark but has been knocking on the door of late off similar ratings to today's and looks to have the measure of these rivals. In his absence, then Afsoun, running back into form, could land the spoils, while Sir Tantallus Hawk, another with a preferred engagement at Haydock, usually runs his race and should be thereabouts.
Stormy Weather catches the eye returned to a more realistic level and makes the most appeal, while Sir Tantallus Hawk and Teenage Idol also hold sound claims. However, all 3 have a first preference at Haydock, and European Dream would rate the likeliest winner should that meeting go ahead.

It's worth taking a chance on CATEGORICAL, who found the company too hot in a Listed race over 3m here last month. Before that, however, he'd finished a creditable fourth over this trip at Haydock on his seasonal bow over fences and, dropped 2lb now, could be ready to regain winning ways. Prosecco is well weighted on his winning form but needs to improve on recent efforts. Dove Hill and Papa Caruso are not out of it either.
Papa Caruso is open to improvement in this sphere and is taken to make a winning return to action. Indian Groom and Categorical head the dangers.

This can go the way of HOLE IN ONE. She's arguably a little flattered by her form figures but is clearly going the right way and might not have too much to find to open her account at her third try at the bigger obstacles. Twice Lucky also looks on an upward curve but has plenty to find to get the better of the selection. Dancing Art weakened quickly at Hexham on his chasing bow but ran well for a long way.
Hard to make a compelling case for any, but Dancing Art is unexposed and has more than hinted at better to come at some stage, so he gets the nod. Hole In One looks the chief threat.

John Ferguson has done really well in these contests and can rack up another winner courtesy of HOUSEPARTY. The three-year-old boasts an outstanding pedigree and could prove a cut above these rivals. Fellow newcomer Bladoun comes from good jumping stock in France and could be the one for the forecast, while Regal Swain showed enough on his debut, when seventh of 17 at Wetherby, to suggest he could go close.
Those with experience don't set too high a standard, Special Mix looking the pick, and this has the look of a race which will go the way of a newcomer, Bladoun and Houseparty both making obvious appeal, the latter taken to continue John Ferguson's good run.
