Jockey bookings suggest that game Fairyhouse winner Minella Till Dawn is JP McManus' leading hope and he warrants plenty of respect, but a chance is taken on the supposed second string OUTSPOKEN. He built on solid placed efforts behind Allblak Des Places and Supreme Novice fancy Bunk Off Early when scoring readily over this C&D and there looks to be a lot more to come from the unexposed son of Galileo. Runaway Fairyhouse scorer Bleu Berry adds further spice to the race.
OUTSPOKEN was a smart performer on the Flat and showed much improved form to make it second time lucky over hurdles at this C&D recently. He gets the nod with the prospect of more to come. Minella Till Dawn and Bleu Berry both fitting a similar bill to the selection, are others to consider.

136-rated hurdler TOWNSHEND made a promising start to his chasing career when runner-up behind the high-class Ballyoisin at Fairyhouse and, with normal improvement expected, he will take the world of beating. Four-time hurdles scorer Teacher's Pet has yet to sparkle over fences but is the only realistic danger to the favourite on all known form, while The Irregular and Mauna Kea will probably need the other pair to falter to score.
TOWNSHEND was useful over hurdles and produced a promising first effort over fences when second at Fairyhouse in January. He looks hard to oppose in his bid to go one place better. The Irregular rates clear second best.

Sambremont was given a questionable ride when runner-up behind Baie Des Iles in the Punchestown National Trial and should benefit from a more aggressive ride over a shorter distance. This could result in a 1-2 for the Gordon Elliott yard with RIGHTDOWNTHEMIDDLE and Ucello Conti both making plenty of appeal. MYSTIC THEATRE won as she pleased on her Rules debut for the Willie Mullins team and looks one of the yard's leading contenders heading towards the mares bumpers at Aintree and Punchestown in the spring. Heritage Quay comes from a solid family (full-sister to Gold Present) and should be in the shake-up, while Wings Like Arion is respected, with her dam a full-sister to solid staying chaser My Murphy.
MYSTIC THEATRE made a winning start to her career under Rules in a Fairyhouse bumper and, with the promise of better to come, she should prove a tough nut to crack. Though One First Cut was well well held in a listed contest last time, she did the job well on debut at Thurles previously and may emerge as the main danger. Newcomers Heritage Quay and Wings Like Arion both need a market check.
