Doug O'Neill has made a big impact with his three-year-olds in recent weeks and AH JEEZ merits the utmost respect in a weak contest. He has won twice over 5f in the US but also stays this far, having finished fourth in a Grade 3 over a mile at Del Mar in December. He is unraced on dirt but his breeding suggests that it will not be problem, with his sire winning the 2018 UAE Derby, and this colt could prove to be a class above his rivals here. Sharp Army was third in the UAE 2000 Guineas Trial over C&D last month and is likely to go well from stall three, while Morning edges out Fast-Uno to be the pick of the remainder.
This looks decidedly trappy but AH JEEZ is the pick of these at the weights and gets the tentative vote to come out on top under William Buick. Sharp Army and Morning can also feature.

Colour Up arguably sets the standard following his second-placed finish over C&D last month, although the widest draw will make life tough for him here. With that in mind, preference is for ROYAL COMMANDO, who showed plenty of promise when second in the Jebel Ali Sprint Prep last time and the return to handicap company should suit. The son of No Nay Never has to prove himself on the Meydan dirt but Mickael Barzalona may be able to get him to the front early on and out of the kickback. King Gold caught the eye when third over 7f here last week and that form gives him a big chance. That said, he tired late on that day and the seven-day turnaround has to be a major concern. Get Back Goldie has won over C&D before and also merits consideration.
COLOUR UP couldn't complete his hat-trick but still posted a very good effort when runner-up over C&D last time and is taken to quickly resume winning ways. Vasari is feared most on the back of his C&D success, although in-form Royal Commando shouldn't be ruled out either.

A case can be made for most of these but marginal preference is for SPIRIT OF LIGHT, who probably would have won a similar event over C&D with a clear run two starts ago. The son of Dark Angel was not disgraced in Listed company last time and could be hard to beat if getting the breaks. Major Partnership was a place in front of the selection two weeks ago, albeit with the benefit of a rail run, and he is an obvious threat. Silent Film will need to improve on his effort here last month, but that was not a poor performance and he cannot be discounted. Others who merit consideration are Bay Of Honour, Ouzo and The Attorney.
SILENT FILM's reappearance fifth over C&D a month ago was promising under the circumstances and having fared much better in the draw department this time, he makes plenty of appeal. Ouzo is a pretty reliable operator at this level and is a threat, along with Light And Dark, for all he needs the breaks given he usually races off the pace.

Mawj confirmed her well-being when winning the Jumeirah Fillies Classic over 7f here a month ago, but she was arguably lucky to hold off Dream Of Love on that occasion and the further step up in trip is a worry. This time Charlie Appleby is represented by FAIRY CROSS, who was last seen winning the Group 3 Prestige Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood over 7f in August. This well-bred daughter of Dubawi should have no problem seeing out the mile and it would be no surprise to see her upset the higher-rated Mawj. Cite D'Or hated the dirt in the UAE 1000 Guineas and is a player based on her European turf form, while Alseyoob was only two lengths behind Mawj last month and could get closer over this distance.
Further Carnival glory beckons for Godolphin with MAWJ and Fairy Cross expected to fight this one out. With race fitness on her side, Saeed bin Suroor's filly gets the nod to emerge on top and supplement her narrow success in the Jumeirah Fillies Classic Stakes here 4 weeks ago. Cite d'Or and Alseyoob could be the ones battling out third spot.

She has won three times from 7f to 1m 2f on ground varying from good to yielding - soft. A winner in the Group 3 De Flore Group 3 Stakes at Saint-Cloud over 1m 2f (heavy) in October last year, beating Rumi by 1/2l. Having her first run for a new stable today.
With the benefit of a recent run, WITH THE MOONLIGHT can just edge out her new stablemate Tranquil Lady in a race that lacks strength in depth. The daughter of Frankel readily scored in the Cape Verdi three weeks ago and the step up in trip should only bring about further improvement. She was Grade 1-placed in the US over 1m2f last year and subsequently scored in the Grade 3 Saratoga Oaks over an extended 1m1f. That form is the strongest on offer, although Tranquil Lady won the Group 3 Blue Wind at Naas last May and was last seen scoring at the same level in France. Godolphin will have high hopes for her this season, having bought the daughter of Australia for 2,700,000gns in November, but she will need to be near her best to beat the selection. The rest all look to be up against it but Ascot Brass is the pick of them.
A Group 2 dominated by Godolphin in recent years and WITH THE MOONLIGHT is well placed to give Charlie Appleby a fifth straight win in the race. Her only blip last season came when too free in the Oaks and she looked all class when making a successful return over a trip short of her best in the Cape Verdi 3 weeks ago. Her new stablemate Tranquil Lady is an interesting alternative, while French runner In Time could get closer to the selection this time.

ONE NATION beat most of these when finishing second to the highly-rated Naval Power in the Jumeirah Classic over 1m1f here last month. Charlie Appleby's gelding almost made all on that occasion and it's hard to see him being beaten if getting an easy lead once again. Highbank was a place behind the selection on that occasion and he may well chase home his stablemate again, although the extra furlong may not help his cause. Sharar easily won a local handicap recently off a mark of 81 and, while this demands a lot more, he could make the frame.
ONE NATION only found a superior stablemate too good in a listed event last time and, if he's allowed his own way in front, he could go one better. Sharar was impressive in a handicap here recently and is a danger, while Highbank also deserves respect.

Stormy Ocean is an intriguing dirt newcomer having won on his debut for connections on turf here 12 days ago but, being by Frankel and out of an Oasis Dream mare, he is best watched until he proves himself on the surface. With that in mind, a chance can be taken on UNITED FRONT, who went well for a long way when fourth in the Curlin over 1m2f a couple of weeks ago. If Oisin Murphy can get this son of War Front a good early position, then this trip on dirt may suit him better and he is also 2lb lower in the ratings. Street Mood may be handicapped to his best and is a little quirky, but he was third over C&D last time and is likely to go well at this level. Those looking for each-way alternatives should consider Shanty Star and Bochart.
STREET MOOD didn't enjoy the smoothest of passages when third over C&D a couple of weeks ago and can show he's still on a favourable mark and gain his second C&D win of the year. Stormy Ocean will be a threat if he can translate recent turf form to the dirt. United Front took a step back in the right direction when fourth here last time and is also respected under Oisin Murphy.
