FLY AT DAWN impressively brushed aside a decent field when landing the spoils here on dirt last month and Charlie Appleby's charge remains with plenty of potential in this sphere. He has already won on turf over a mile but he has the potential to be even better at 7f on the green stuff. Really Special arrives with a point to prove after being a disappointing beaten favourite here a fortnight ago, while Nobelium ran a huge race at lofty odds on racecourse debut in a conditions race recently and he has claims if building on that performance.
FLY AT DAWN and Really Special look the pair to focus on here, the former narrowly selected on the back of his much-improved showing when scoring on his most recent outing. Nobelium, who almost defied big odds on debut, can also make the frame.

ELITE EXCALIBUR has shown promise in both of his handicap starts at the carnival and he ran on well to finish a close second to Cymric over 1m here two starts ago. He faced a tough task in the Group 3 Dubai Millennium over C&D a week ago and this is not the best handicap that will be staged here this year. Dragon Mall is likely to be dropped in and that should negate his wide draw. The son of Blame has looked worth a go at this kind of trip on more than one occasion and there is some encouragement in his pedigree. Godolphin have a strong hand with Huge Future and Kidmenever appearing to be the best of their representatives, while Elleval should run his usual solid race without getting his head in front.
HUGE FUTURE produced a somewhat underwhelming effort on his C&D return last month, but his profile was generally a progressive one previously, and he could be worth chancing to bounce back. Fellow Godolphin in-mate Kidmenever and Dragon Mall, who caught the eye from an unpromising position himself latest, are also worthy of respect.

A far from vintage renewal of this contest and as a result a chance can be taken with COMPLIMENTI. The daughter of Congrats has finally been allocated a decent draw in stall two, having been drawn extremely wide in the UAE 1000 Guineas as well as the trial for that event. She finished behind Nashmiah (first), Nomorerichblondes (second) and Rajar (third) on her most recent start but those three were all drawn four or lower, whereas the selection was forced to cover more ground out from her berth in 11. There are some stamina doubts for Complimenti, but the same can be said for most of her main rivals and this race could go to the filly who gets the trip best. Nomorerichblondes may reverse form with Nashmiah, as she only just failed to catch the Saudi Arabian runner last time out and this extra distance should be in her favour. Melesina is hard to recommend having bombed out in the Guineas and Calare has plenty of ground to find with the selection based on recent meetings.
This could be fought out by the same fillies who dominated the UAE 1000 Guineas a fortnight ago, with NASHMIAH taken to confirm her superiority over Nomorerichblondes and Rajar and stretch her unbeaten record to 5.

This looks a match on paper between Group 1 winner VAZIRABAD and Sheikhzayedroad as they are both a fair way ahead of their rivals and arrive here in the form of their lives. Marginal preference goes to the former, who ended last year's campaign with a fine success in the Prix Royal-Oak at Saint-Cloud and may well improve again as a five-year-old. The latter rattled up two Group 2 successes in the Doncaster Cup and on Champions Day at Ascot and will fully test the selection if he isn't 100 percent fit. Beautiful Romance looks best of the remainder but has to improve to trouble the main two.
The Dubai Gold Cup is presumably the main target for the VAZIRABAD but there's still every chance Alain de Royer Dupre's charge will be straight enough to take this on his way there. Last year's winner Sheikhzayedroad is unlikely to go down without a fight, while the well-travelled Beautiful Romance landed an Australian Group 2 when last seen in November.

A strong handicap closes proceedings with plenty of these holding decent claims to victory. Bravo Zolo began his life with Godolphin with an authoritative success here earlier in the month over a mile when seeing off SUYOOF by a length and a half but there is every chance Mike De Kock's gelding will improve past him on this occasion. The drop back in distance is no negative and his trainer stated beforehand that he would benefit for the outing. Oh This Is Us (third) was an unlucky loser when behind the reopposing Salateen over C&D and is a major player on that showing along with Mike De Kock's other representative Tahanee (fourth), while others to consider include Mr Owen, back in handicap company, and Meydan specialist Dark Emerald, who will be suited by the bigger field he encounters here.
STEADY PACE will likely be held up, so a wide draw isn't overly concerning, and still relatively unexposed at this trip, he could be the one to side with having been running well in defeat over 6f this Carnival. Bravo Zolo made the perfect start for Godolphin 12 days ago and he will remain of interest, whilst Oh This Is Us is taken to reverse form with recent C&D winner Salateen.
