Ottoman Empire could be tough to pass, particularly as he may get his own way out in front, but another chance is taken on Samurai Sword who inexplicably went from the front last time having shaped so well when ridden with restraint previously, and now has cheekpieces on in this lesser event. Mickdaam doesn't strike as being that well handicapped but won't need to be to feature in this.
A few of these will be hoping for a strong pace, including Dragon Falls, but he is taken to get his head in front after a couple of luckless efforts so far in Dubai. Van Rooney looks sure to be involved once again after such a good run last week, whilst better was clearly expected of Tamarkuz last time and he can come on for that reappearance.
It could be worth chancing Take Ten who was clearly drawn on the wrong side last time, also hampered, and the horse that finished just ahead of him (Ahtoug) that day came out and almost won last week. Roicead was in a similar boat (didn't shape as well as Take Ten) and should get involved whilst Glass Office has unfinished business as a sprinter and will make them all go if ready for this return.
Energizer will need to settle better than he did on his return but the shorter trip can help in that respect and he did well to stick around for as long as he did under the circumstances, so he looks handicapped to strike. Capital Attraction is interesting in this lesser race while Disa Leader has finally been given a chance by the handicapper and now has the services of Christophe Soumillon.
Cavalryman may need this ahead of another tilt at the Dubai Gold Cup but he was so impressive when winning that race that his class could easily see him through and he is the tentative selection. Star Empire is still getting better judged on his last 2 runs and looks the main danger with Simenon another to consider given how well he has gone on his travels recently.
The obvious one is Sanshaawes who looked well ahead of his mark when winning last time and a 5 lb rise for that success didn't do his superiority justice. Saxo Jack is the obvious danger also being a last-time-out winner while Regulation might be one to consider at a bigger price given the way he shaped last time and his stable continue in great form.
