Shipboard Romance has some decent form in handicap company but is 10lb higher than her best winning mark, while Carlitos Spirit hasn't shown too much in four runs over timber but drops to the grade for the first time and must be considered. However, preference is for DANE COTTAGE, who has been knocking on the door recently in better races and could be let in today, dropped in class.
One of the weakest races of the marathon Boxing Day programme and this looks a good opportunity for Shipboard Romance to make up for her first-flight mishap when well backed last time. Dane Cottage's consistency makes her an obvious place candidate whilst a drop in grade/trip can see Truckers Princess make more impact than previously.

It may be worth taking a chance here on MOONSTREAKER, whose jumping fell apart as he tired at Doncaster on his debut over fences. He ran well for a long way, however, and although a distant second, could go one better with the experience under his belt. Be Definite has been placed on four of his five starts over fences but has been well beaten each time, while Architrave has claims on his hurdling form but tackles fences for the first time.
A very trappy affair in which Be Definite gets a tentative vote. Architrave hails from a stable going great guns and if the switch to fences sparks him back to life he could also be involved in a race where none of the runners can be discounted with total confidence.

WIDE RECEIVER looked on his way to completing a hat-trick when falling three out at Lingfield last month. Off the same mark today, he's taken to make amends. Springfield Raki broke his duck in some style over fences at Fakenham latest and, although this is tougher, looks the one for the forecast. Be Amazed and Nine De Sivola are others to consider.
The pair to concentrate on here appear to be Beamazed and Wide Receiver, with preference for the former who is well suited by testing ground and worth another try at this sort of trip. Oniz Tiptoes can reach a place despite racing from out of the handicap.

In an open affair, preference is for FAIRYNUFF, a C&D winner two starts ago. He just missed out off this handicap mark at Musselburgh last time and might still be on an upward curve. Yahrab scored gamely at Huntingdon this month but may struggle to follow up with another 6lb to carry, while Dontpaytheferryman is struggling at present but might have been given a chance by the handicapper.
Fairynuff is thriving and seems bound to be thereabouts, while Swinging Hawk is worth noting now upped in trip for his handicap debut but, at a likely bigger price, it could be worth taking a chance with the well-treated Andhaar with his stable in excellent form.

A chance is taken on DOMOLY here. He had been in cracking form before failing to get home in extreme conditions over 3m1f at Hexham last time and, with the talented Tony Kelly taking 7lb off his back this afternoon, he could get back on track off a handy racing weight. Pure Genius has had her share of problems but is now thrown in on best form and warrants respect while Kadouchski, placed in three starts over fences so far, cannot be ruled out.
A trappy novice handicap and it's probably worth taking a chance on the well-bred point winner Ifonlyalfie on his handicap/chase debut. Kings Queen is another with some potential to improve, while O Crotaigh arrives in good form and should run his race.

TARANTELLA LADY makes plenty of appeal on her handicap debut. She arguably produced her best effort yet when runner-up in maiden company over an extended 2m at Doncaster latest and this step up in trip is likely to help. Getaway Driver finished a fine third behind subsequent winner Thehillofuisneach on his handicap debut at Huntingdon last time and he can go close here if building on that, while first-time visored Thoresby certainly isn't out of it either.
Getaway Driver is likely to need further to be seen to best effect, but he has more potential than the majority of these and gets the nod. Tarantella Lady should give him the most to think about if her stamina holds out, whilst Thoresby could fare best of the rest.
