QUELQU'UN COMME TOI blew away the cobwebs with a recent spin over timber and gets the verdict now tackling fences for the first time. The selection didn't rip up any trees over hurdles but his pedigree suggests he could leave that form behind now moving over the larger obstacles (half-brother to winning jumper Honey Honey). Bishophill Jack, 4lb higher than when scoring at Wetherby earlier in the month, appears the main danger. Sole Agent is open to more improvement around this trip but he has an absence to overcome.
Ere Alfie has the ability to defy his current mark and showed a bit more last time, but chasing debutants Quelqu'Un Comme Toi and Get Ready To Go make the most appeal, the latter already a winner in points.

Go Amwell's latest victory came over 3m2f at this venue and he may possibly find this shorter trip on the sharp side. Of more interest is BADGERS RETREAT, who has improved with each run over timber to date and is taken to build upon his recent second over 2m4f at Sedgefield now tackling this longer trip. Cool Steel was still in contention when brought down at Wincanton last time and has a race in him off this mark.
Cool Steel would have finished right in the mix with a couple of subsequent winners but for being brought down at Wincanton last time and is an obvious selection off the same mark if none the worse for that mishap. Vertueux arrives in form and should run his race, while a first-time tongue tie might do something for General Ting.

GEORGE NYMPTON benefitted, in part, from the favourite falling two out at Warwick last time, but his confidence will have been buoyed as a result and he is taken to continue his promising start to his chase career. El Padrino looks the main danger as, although he is having his first start in this sphere, he is a half-brother to smart I'msingingtheblues, and is expected to improve now sent chasing. Wood Yer has been raised 9lb for scoring at Plumpton in October and is another to consider.
Wood Yer was impressive at Plumpton and can make it 2 wins from as many starts over fences. None of his rivals can be ruled out, with George Nympton a player after his Warwick success.

LANEGUY went down by just a neck at Bangor on similar ground in November and, off just a 2lb higher mark here, the gelded son of Nikos finally appears to have things in his favour. Phoenix Des Mottes must show marked improvement but has every chance off this low weight in testing ground, while there could be more to come from The Laodicean, who gave a good account of himself over the extended 2m3f at Towcester recently.
Laneguy still seems to be improving, making him an exception in this line-up, and he can defy top weight ahead of Betty Browneyes and Phoenix Des Mottes.
