This doesn't appear the most competitive of races with the bottom three out of the handicap proper and a number struggling to find their form so it looks best to concentrate on SIR BOB and R'evelyn Pleasure. The selection ran well over this C&D last Christmas when staying on in third behind Regina Dracones and successfully switched back to hurdles for an easy win in Cork at Easter. He showed the benefit of an outing at Naas last month when successful at Punchestown last week and can follow up off a 6lb higher mark. R'evelyn Pleasure hasn't won beyond 2m4f but stayed on well into fourth in the Mayo National at Ballinrobe and should be spot on after an encouraging reappearance at Thurles this month. Forza Milan and Blast Of Koeman look the pick of the remainder.

The locally-trained MY FRIEND THE WIND may prove the one to beat. Eric McNamara's charge won a handicap hurdle on testing ground at Tipperary last year and, having been placed twice in staying handicap hurdles at Listowel this year, made a promising return to fences at Galway last time when runner-up to Captain Jimmy. Ballyadam Destiny has won three times over hurdles including on soft ground over this trip on his penultimate start at Galway but jumping fences has been an issue in the past. A bitterly disappointing turnout for this Grade 2 event in which BRAZIL looks to have found a great opportunity. SPLASHING OUT has progressed with each run and showed definite promise last time when beating all bar Irish Point in a 23-runner maiden hurdle at Cork. That form received a significant boost when the winner was just denied subsequently in the Grade 1 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Benz won a Tramore maiden hurdle in August and narrowly failed to add to his tally in a competitive 2m4f handicap at Cork earlier this month, while Marelly has progressed steadily in handicaps and got off the mark at Gowran last month. Desert Friend also handled testing ground well when taking a Listowel maiden hurdle in good style this summer and has been running on a sounder surface since.

Point-to-point winner SENIOR CHIEF was second in a Cork bumper in the spring and that form has worked out well. He was a beaten favourite on last month's hurdling debut at Clonmel, where he had IK's Man back in sixth, but that form has also been boosted with the third winning easily earlier in the week. This longer trip should suit Henry de Bromhead's charge and this looks a winnable contest. Chautuaqua won a Clonmel bumper on heavy ground and wasn't disgraced in a Listed contest at Cheltenham. Her hurdling debut fifth at Thurles has been franked by wins for the first and second. Purse Price, placed in her last two starts over hurdles, has every chance of being in the money again, while Della Casa Lunga chased home a subsequent hurdles winner in a bumper on the inner track here last month.

SONNY MAY stepped up on previous efforts when he finished fifth of 20 runners in a similar contest at Punchestown last month and, given that the horse a place in front of him was a creditable third in a Leopardstown maiden earlier this week, he looks a solid option in this maiden restricted to horses yet to be placed. Jewelinthesky is from a yard already amongst the winners at Limerick this week and she caught the eye to an extent when sixth at Galway on her penultimate start. Likely to be primed for a big run by her local handler, she is another who merits respect, while Sixty Seconds has scope for improvement and is also worthy of consideration.

A race at this meeting was suggested as the likely next target for BLUEBELL DIVA after her win at Clonmel where she had Doyen Ta Win back in third. Runner-up on the inside track here on her previous start, testing ground won't be an issue and Mouse Morris' mare may be able to defy a 7lb hike if equally effective over this three-furlong longer trip. Doyen Ta Win was beaten just a neck over 2m4f at Wexford on her penultimate start so has no stamina concerns and has her chance at the revised weights. Bugscuffle ran his best race so far when third in a maiden on the inside track here last month and the runner-up from that race scored easily in handicap company next time. The cheekpieces worn for the first time then are reapplied. Top-weight Castlehill Boy has shown promise in bumpers and maidens and is not one to rule out on handicap debut.
