Having returned from a wind operation to land a conditional jockeys' handicap over C&D earlier in the month, the progressive TRAPRAIN LAW appeals most at the weights as he escapes a penalty on this occasion. Carcaci Castle won a bumper in Ireland before making a successful yard/hurdling debut at the same meeting here but has to carry a 7lb winner's penalty as a result. Therefore, the unexposed Gie It Laldy may be more of a threat to the selection on these terms.

Corey's Courage registered a hat-trick in similar races last winter and is respected on those efforts. However, she was no match for PHILLAPA SUE when they met at Hereford last month and may again have to settle for a supporting role, given the manner in which Fergal O'Brien's mare asserted herself that day. The daughter of Scorpion has scope for progression in handicaps and is hard to ignore, despite an 8lb rise. Missed Tee is another going the right way and is also considered.
