Alan King has saddled two of the last three winners of this contest and he appears to have another big chance with NEBUCHADNEZZAR this time around. The Planteur gelding only found subsequent winner Nelson River too good on his hurdling debut at Bangor and normal improvement will make him difficult to beat. Deadline Diva won her sole hurdles start in France and was also successful twice on the Flat, and demands respect on her British debut, while Olympic Odyssey, a 1m2f winner on the level, completes the shortlist.
NEBUCHADNEZZAR finished well clear of the rest when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Bangor on hurdling debut last month and is selected to go one better with improvement on the cards. Strong market support for either Olympic Odyssey or Deadline Diva would put a slightly different slant on matters, though.

Dynamite Dollars hasn't done much wrong in three starts over fences thus far, winning either side of a solid placed effort at Cheltenham's November meeting, and he looks sure to run another big race, but conceding 5lb to KALASHNIKOV is a big ask. Amy Murphy's stable star, among the best novice hurdlers around last season, has been faultless in both starts since switching to fences and will take some stopping in his bid to complete the hat-trick. Tough, front-running mare Maria's Benefit could prove dangerous if given a soft lead.
KALASHNIKOV looks one of the top 2m novice chasers and can maintain his unbeaten record in this sphere. Dynamite Dollars is feared most on the back of his Henry VIII victory at Sandown.

MOMELLA is fancied to give weight and a beating to these rivals. Placed in Grade 1 company last season, this high-class mare still held every chance when falling two out on her seasonal reappearance in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury and, providing that nasty experience hasn't dented her confidence, her class ought to shine through. Chilli Filli fairly bolted up on her return to action at Ludlow and rates the biggest threat, ahead of Culture De Sivola and Jubilympics.
Despite conceding upwards of 6 lb all round, MOMELLA should prove a tough nut to crack back in handicap company. She appears to have improved judged on her reappearance effort in a Newbury Grade 2 (looked set to go close when falling 2 out) and she's unexposed at this trip. Jubilympics shapes as though this stamina test will be right up her street and is next on the list ahead of Chilli Filli.

He is guaranteed a good pace to aim at once again with Special Tiara, Diakali, and Speredek all front runners. SPRINGTOWN LAKE has done little wrong over fences, building on his chase debut victory at Sandown with a second to Grade 2-winning hurdler Mr Whipped at Haydock earlier this month. Philip Hobbs' gelding has long shaped as though a step up to 3m would play to his strengths and he can account for Just A Sting, who is unbeaten so far over fences, and Wandrin Star, an easy winner on his last start at Bangor.
A really intriguing affair with the narrow vote in favour of ADRIEN DU PONT. Paul Nicholls' charge shaped much better than the bare result at Newbury recently, making his effort earlier than ideal, having travelled into the race with a good deal of purpose. PACIFIC DE BAUNE unseated his rider on his second outing over fences at Doncaster and connections opt for a switch back to hurdles. His handicap mark of 139 appears to be somewhat lenient and he could potentially prove a cut above this opposition. Malaya fell on her return in a Grade 1 at Auteuil but is respected dropped in grade, while Mystic Sky and Distingo look best of the remainder.
In an open finale it's perhaps worth taking a chance on MAQUISARD who made an encouraging start for new trainer Chris Gordon on AW Flat here recently and is fairly treated on his best hurdling exploits. Distingo arrives on the back of a couple of good placed efforts and is likely to figure again, while Great Hall made a solid return to hurdles last time and is also respected.
