Bandsman looks sure to pick up a race soon following multiple good efforts in bumpers and he has to feature on the shortlist. New Agenda faced a stiff task on his hurdling debut when second in a Listed event over C&D last month but he was far from disgraced. That said, preference is for TOP TUG, who has been rated as high as 100 on the Flat and if takes to this game, he will be very hard to beat.

Oldgrangewood has looked a touch high in the ratings in handicaps over hurdles but this winning pointer may find some improvement on his first chasing start under Rules. LITTLE POP was an impressive winner at Hereford and that form has been boosted with the third winning since. On that evidence, a 6lb rise may underestimate him, especially with the yard in such fine form. Robert's Star would be the pick of the remainder.

The step up in trip should suit COASTAL TIEP, who scraped home in a bumper at Chepstow, but this winning pointer should only improve for the extra distance and the second from that contest has since gone close in a maiden hurdle. Pickamix will not be easy to beat following his third to a Grade 2 winner at Cheltenham. Rapanui should complete for third-place prize money.

Watch out for: Pickamix (2)

COASTAL TIEP was value for extra when making a winning Rules debut at Chepstow a month ago, and given he's bred to stay well, this trip should suit now hurdling. He is marginally preferred to Pickamix, who escapes a penalty for his Uttoxeter win but had his limitations slightly exposed at Cheltenham last time.

BARNEY DWAN and Potters Legend are closely matched based on their first and second respectively in the EBF Final at Sandown in March. The latter was giving the selection 6lb on that occasion, which should bring them closer together, but Barney Dwan just gets the nod based on current stable form. Potters Legend was subsequently third in a Grade 1 at Aintree and he has yet to run a bad race in his relatively short career. Chase End Charlie is a useful sort but he looks vulnerable in this event.

That race was won by Ballyoptic and there is nothing of his class in this event, which gives the Nicky Henderson representative a leading chance from just a 2lb higher figure. This should come down to a battle between Camping Ground and JOSSES HILL, but it will be disappointing if the latter cannot get the job done in these conditions. Camping Ground is an exceptionally good horse on very soft going, as highlighted by his impressive win in the Relkeel Hurdle earlier in the year, but he was found out when upped in class on better ground towards the end of the season. Josses Hill does have his jumping issues but he accounted for God's Own in a similar event over C&D back in February and he should have too much speed for his rivals. Princeton Royale looks booked for third place unless there are some mishaps.

CAMPING GROUND and Josses Hill are both highly talented chasers and there's precious little to choose between them. If allowed an easy lead the latter could prove a tough nut to crack but his jumping isn't always foot-perfect, therefore Camping Ground looks the safer option.
