Real Stone bounced back to form in no uncertain terms when ridden positively at Wetherby last month and the 10-year-old must be respected off 6lb higher. Preference, however, is for HELNWEIN. Alan King's charge made an extremely promising start to life over fences when filling the runner-up spot at Warwick, shaping like the best horse in the race. He's disappointed twice since then, but recent wind surgery could work the oracle. Gallic Geordie is another to consider.

A decent sort on the level for previous connections, ELFORLEATHER made a promising start to his hurdles career when second at Southwell last month and, with normal improvement, he is expected to go one better. That may be at the main expense of Maple, who was denied by the narrowest of margins at Catterick most recently. Not beaten too far on his hurdles bow at Market Rasen, Miners Gamble is another open to improvement.
FILIBUSTERING certainly won't lack for stamina now hurdling and sure to be well prepared for this, he's selected to make a winning start for new connections. Elforleather, Miners Gamble and Maple have already displayed ability over obstacles and they can remain competitive.

Similar to his stable, LEADER IN THE PARK is in top form at present and a further 5lb rise for his most recent success at Warwick may not be enough to prevent him from landing the hat-trick. The seven-year-old gets the vote ahead of Walk On Quest, who is unbeaten in three starts over fences but has a hefty 10lb rise to deal with for winning at Ayr last month. Irish raider Step Out is another to bear in mind.
LEADER IN THE PARK was value for more than the bare margin implies when taking his chase record to 2-3 at Warwick 6 weeks ago and, with further progress in the offing, he gets the nod to complete the hat-trick with his trainer/jockey combination continuing in scintillating form. Walk On Quest is similarly most progressive and comfortably rates the chief threat in search of the 4-timer. Menaggio may do best of the other trio.
