After winning so easily at Chepstow on Thursday, FLORRIE BOY can be supported to defy his 7lb penalty and make it back-to-back wins. That contest was arguably stronger than this one and the only concern is the short gap between the races. Caged Lightning is still comparatively unexposed and he should be capable of making his presence felt. Lakeshore Lady returns to her best trip having struggled over 2m and 3m recently.
Very hard to get away from FLORRIE BOY, who returned from a break to notch an easy win at Chepstow last week and looks well treated under a 7 lb penalty. Definitly Grey is a possible improver now switching his attentions to handicaps for the Charlie Longsdon team and could be the one to give the selection most to do ahead of Steve Gollings' Caged Lightning.

ALLEE BLEUE has to shoulder a double penalty but he was a highly respectable fifth from a mark of 135 in the Imperial Cup earlier in the month. His wins in novice company are also of a decent standard and he should prove very hard to beat. Mahlers Star was very disappointing last time but would be a danger if he bounces back to the form which saw him finish second on his hurdling debut. Easy Street must be better than what he has shown in two starts since joining this yard and it would be dangerous to completely dismiss his claims.

Midnight Monty is sure to prove popular, making the long trip south from Redcar following his impressive success at Doncaster last month. However, INDIAN STREAM looked a mare on the upgrade when winning easily at Southwell in September and she has the scope for considerable further progress over fences after only three starts in this code so far. Alberto's Dream didn't win much of a race here last time but warrants respect nonetheless.
MIDNIGHT MONTY showed the benefit of his initial run over fences when making a winning handicap debut in fine style at Doncaster 24 days ago. The runner-up has won since and, though he's been hit with an 11 lb rise, the lightly-raced 6-y-o is taken to follow up here. SMARTMAX disappointed favourite-backers at Southwell in December but clearly doesn't handle soft ground and a much-improved performance is anticipated here. A short-head second off 1lb lower at Warwick (good to soft) two starts ago, Caroline Bailey's charge is a big player on that line of form. Pandy Wells is the sole course winner in the field and joins the sole distance winner Petit Ecuyer on the shortlist.
PETIT ECUYER has never been one to place maximum faith in, but the whole field has questions to answer and he may prove the best option following a more encouraging effort at Fakenham recently. Smartmax and Pandy Wells should also have a say in matters if back to anywhere near their best.

BARDD fetched 20,000 euros at Tattersalls in October '13 and is closely related to a Sandown bumper winner and Grade 3 hurdles scorer. Representing the in-form Nicky Henderson operation, the son of Dylan Thomas makes plenty of appeal on his racecourse debut and has been found a good opening. Laval Noir is another interesting newcomer, though, and cannot be overlooked, while Frankly Speaking is also noted.
BARDD makes plenty of appeal on paper and this is unlikely to take much winning. Fellow-newcomer Laval Noir can follow him home.
