Newcomer Lots Of Fun could prove a useful newcomer, while Cheshire Prince, a C&D winner on his hurdling debut wasn't far away in a better race at Leicester next time and has obvious claims. Osric was a well held third at Newbury last month first time out in public and, with that experience under his belt, could get a lot closer today. Preference, however, is for ACTION IMPACT, who boasts an excellent strike-rate on the Flat. His jumping wasn't always spot on when tackling hurdles for the first time over 2m 1f at Newbury last month but he was a very creditable third in a higher grade than this. If he's benefited from the experience he can score in this company.
Osric and Action Impact shaped with immense promise on their hurdling debuts and are likely to prove too strong for the penalised Cheshire Prince.

This should go the way of ante-post Triumph Hurdle favourite MILLE CHIEF. The French import looked all over the winner on his UK and hurdling debut at Market Rasen when brought down two out. He quickly made amends when defying some sketchy jumping to score with something in hand over 2m at Kempton next time. This looks an easier task and a clear round should be all that's needed to see him home. Great Reason, placed in two bumpers and representing a top jockey-trainer combination, looks the only possible danger although Southwell bumper winner, The Bonus Ball, ran well enough on his hurdling debut at Fakenham before a couple of jumping errors, and could make the frame.
All eyes will be on Mille Chief as he bids to cement his place at the head of the betting for the Triumph Hurdle, and he should win. That said, it wouldn't be a surprise if Great Reason pushed him close. Rock 'N' Roller could fare best of the rest.

Absolute Shambles scored over C&D last time out but battled to get home and needs to improve if he's to defy a 4lb rise in the weights. Recent winners Sir Winston and Power Shared could also be in the grip of the handicapper now and are passed over in favour of CELIAN. He looked likely to score second time out over fences until falling four out over 3m 2f at Plumpton when clear of his field but quickly made amends with an easy win over 2m 5f here this month. He has to carry another 8lb today but still looks open to further improvement.
Not the strongest race and Absolute Shambles is taken to follow up last month's C&D success. Sir Winston, as long as his jumping holds up, and Celian look a couple of the likely dangers.

In an open contest, it should pay to side with Uttoxeter maiden hurdle winner, KEY CUTTER. He's struggled since to find his feet in handicap company but put in a fine effort when second over C&D last month and, with further improvement likely, can defy a 5lb rise in the weights to score here. Cobbler's Queen, another C&D winner, has landed two of her last three starts and has claims despite a 7lb rise in the weights while Fontwell winner, Casual Garcia, and the useful Ballamusic, who hasn't run for more than two years, are others with chances.
Cobbler's Queen has softer ground to contend with, but she's a likeable mare and it may pay to give her the benefit of the doubt at a venue she's won before. Key Cutter will be bang there if running as well as he did over C&D last month, and Ballyveeney could also take a hand if ready after a lay-off.

Plenty in with chances here but preference is for the in-form ULTIMATE LIMIT. The winner of three of his last five starts - and an unlucky loser two runs ago when badly hampered and unseating his rider at Market Rasen - he has to carry another 10lb for his win over 3m at Taunton last month. He won with bags in hand that day, however, and could still be ahead of the handicapper. Rate Of Knots landed a double at this time last year but may be in the grip of the handicapper now while I'moncloudnine is running well but also looks to have his fair share of weight. Mr Big and Ice Bucket shouldn't be too far away.

She Is A Cracker was beaten out of sight at Newbury last month but can be given a chance here on the pick of her form while French Leave won well at Exeter two starts ago but was a distant fifth at Bangor next time off today's mark. Vivarini left all previous form behind with a 20-length success over 3m at Fakenham this month and even with a 7lb penalty, dropped in trip and upped in class, he must be one for the shortlist. Preference, however, is for VICTORY SURGE, who overcame a mistake at the first to score cosily over 2m at Warwick last month on just his fifth start. This trip shouldn't be a problem and he can improve enough to defy a 9lb rise in the weights to score.
This might not prove as competitive as the numbers suggest, and Victory Surge is taken to follow up his success at Warwick before Christmas. Minnie Hill and Galoshes could be the ones to chase him home.
