It's rather surprising to see Mickmacmagoole dropped into selling company although race conditions are very much in his favour. He is rated 18lb higher than his nearest rival on official ratings but has been disappointing of late and it may be best to wait until he signals a return to form. Therefore, preference is for JUMEIRAH JANE, who gave her best performance to date when running the useful Quivvy Bridge to less than two lengths at this venue in midsummer. A repeat would be good enough here. Lindseyfield Lodge and Solis are respected at this level and complete the shortlist.
Mickmacmagoole arguably isn't one to take a short price about, but he is the most likely winner back over hurdles down in grade. Hawksbury Heights and Commons Glory are reasonable each-way alternatives.

Chernik posted a decent level of form during the spring jumping campaign, scoring at Carlisle and finishing a solid third over this C&D behind Toby Jug. That experience may prove invaluable back in novice chase company but there is the obvious concern that he hasn't been since and his race fitness must be taken on trust. Therefore, he is reluctantly passed over in favour of BEAUTIFUL VISION, who scored with plenty in hand three days ago at Sedgefield and looks sure to appreciate this step up in trip. Tim Vaughan's Irish import, Guitar Rory, looks next best.
Guitar Rory is an interesting one on his debut for Tim Vaughan, but Beautiful Vision returned to form in no uncertain terms earlier in the week and can go in again. Western Gale isn't without a chance, either.

HOUSE OF BOURBON appreciated the return to timber at Ffos Las when the only one to make a race of things with Carsonstown Boy, the pair pulling clear of the remainder in a competitive novice hurdle. He'll relish this stiff track and the weight he receives from Irish raider, Quivvy Bridge, can prove decisive. The latter has obvious claims and continues to give a good account, although a well beaten runner-up at odds-on last time. Mr Robert ran really well in a Listed chase at Market Rasen on Saturday but concedes lumps of weight all round here.
An obvious opportunity for House of Bourbon to open his account over hurdles, getting weight from his only 2 serious rivals Mr Robert and Quivvy Bridge.

Seek The Truth's last run, third to Ngong Hills at Perth, reads well in the context of this contest, but that was back in May and he may need the run. Ballynure was disappointing last time but his overall profile gives him decent claims off an attractive mark. However, he does find winning difficult and DORIS'S GIFT is a tentative selection off bottomweight. He has to be forgiven his latest performance (pulled up) but previous efforts suggest this C&D winner can go well here despite being 1lb out of the handicap.
Not a race to dwell on in truth, and it may be worth chancing chase debutant Onthegoagain for his new stable with McCoy booked. Seek The Truth and Ballynure look the likeliest dangers.

This looks a good opportunity for ROCKYS CHOICE to complete his three-timer. The consistent gelding was awarded the race by the stewards last time but scored with plenty in hand previously at Cartmel. He may be better suited by softer conditions but still gets the vote over Nocturnal Knight. The Irish gelding has been out of form for most of the year but a return to the level he displayed in the heart of last term would see him go close. Blacktoft pulled up last time but makes the shortlist on the back of some previously acceptable form.
Market confidence behind Nocturnal Knight on his debut for a new yard would be a huge positive but, as things stand, Rockys Choice is the safer option.

FRED BOJANGALS ran a blinder at Sedgefield on Tuesday, staying on really well but just failing to overhaul Perpetuum over two and a half miles. He is clearly in great heart and has continued to perform well despite a gradual rise in the ratings this year. The drop back to two miles is no problem and he's preferred to Morestead. The mount of Tony McCoy showed improved form to account for Milesian King at Plumpton and if the front-running tactics adopted that day work again he'll be a potent threat. Ravenscar and chasing recruit Rexmehead also merit respect.
Morestead will doubtless be popular having won last time, but he's long since been one to rely on. Longdale looks the most logical choice off his lower mark over fences, with Barton Sun and Fred Bojangles both feared.
