POUCO MOLEQUE came clear to record a six-length verdict over this course and distance last month and a similar level of form today would see him hard to deny. Embullievable exits the rail post and can give a good account, while Wild Friar is effective in this grade and should make an impact.
CZECH VALENTINE beat Elle's Song a nose into third in a similar race over 6f here Nov 18. That is not much of an advantage, but Anthony Granitz's ward boasts the best dirt speed among today's starters and could uphold the form. Perfectly True finished back in fourth that day, but not far behind, and also has to be considered.
Runaround Jonnie's debut second at Hoosier was a fair effort and he should figure today, along with Kiss Me Matt who finished third in a similar race last time. Conjurer could go well if ready for his first start in six months, but preference is for PAPPASPHLESAS. The Lycius colt was disappointing when last of 12 as favourite here Nov 4, but it's interesting to see him upped in class on his first outing for Wayne Catalano on the back of a recent sharp workout over 4f.
SIR BUNNY has bagged his last three starts with increasing authority and his back form suggests he may have slightly more to offer. He debuts for John Witthauer today and could complete his four-timer. Bucksteeler scored by three lengths over 5 1/2f at Hoosier last month and can't be ruled out, while Stevebiscuit is better than his last run and is also worth a mention.
Convairman can be considered as he tackles a route for the first time and has blinkers removed, while So Busted has shown ability in his three starts and enters calculations, but this could go the way of RAGGEDY MAN. He ran as if needing his debut over 7f at Churchill Downs last month and, following a sharp workout Nov 29, looks primed to leave that form behind as he moves up to a route.
Plenty with claims here, but perhaps the strongest is COPY RUNNER. Donald Millonas' gelding won an allowance race over track and trip last month and could prove too good back in claiming company. Macatawa Bay should be happier back on the main track after a reasonable turf effort last time, while B Rules has claims now dropped slightly in class.
Cart's Rose has put up the best speed figures so far, but after six races she is starting to look difficult to win with, while Pleasure Time stands out amongst the other experienced horses. Hoping For Sun is an interesting newcomer, but STORY BROOK has impressed in her workouts, breezing a very quick 5f at Turfway Park recently, and could be good enough here.
Mz. Winjum had no answer for Daisy Mountain and OVERSTEP, and while she has the better of the draw with Daisy Mountain, the selection has the advantage of post three. Brian Williamson's filly comes from a barn in sparkling form and could be the one to be on here. Gigi From Fiji won as she pleased here last month, but steps up massively in class today.
Spin Time has claims on the pick of his form but is drawn far too wide, while Saved By The Sword ran well over track and trip last time but isn't the most reliable. NOBLE RULER has done nothing wrong in his last few races, and drops down the ladder for his first run in a couple of months.
