CHEERS BUDDY had a subsequent winner over two and a half lengths behind when winning stylishly at Bellewstown and he already boasts winning C&D form having struck here when trained by Keith Dalgleish a couple of years ago. He will prove difficult to beat under Sammy Bell, although Fantasy Gladiator has been running consistently well and rates a serious threat. Uncle Brit would have a solid chance if talking his place in the line-up but he was declared to run here on Thursday.

CHEERS BUDDY completed a full scale resurgence when readily adding to his tally at Bellewstown earlier in the month. He remains of interest after being reassessed and has sound prospects of following-up, possibly at the expense of the similarly in-form Fantasy Gladiator. Ellaal shaped better than the bare result at Pontefract last time and makes the most appeal of the remainder.

Mark Johnston continues to send out the winners and was successful in this race 12 months ago, so there is no need to look any further than his TRIASSIC. The Vale Of York colt made a debut full of promise when third over the extended 6f at Nottingham and that form has since been franked with the fourth notching up a double. With normal improvement, he should have what it takes to see off Newmarket fifth War Queen and the twice-raced Royal Display.

Top Tip: Triassic (4)
Watch out for: War Queen (6)

HYALINE shaped much better than the bare result when tiring at the business end on his debut at Nottingham in June. He is likely to be a different proposition this time and is narrowly preferred to his stablemate Triassic, who showed stronger form starting out, but may need a stiffer test to reveal his true colours.

OCEAN SHERIDAN ran out a comfortable winner over this C&D last week and a 6lb penalty might not be enough to anchor him if reproducing that level of performance. Indego Blues was three and a quarter lengths back in third that day, but his handicap mark remains the same and he is now fitted with first-time cheekpieces. He should be able to close the gap while Chookie's Lass was a fair second over the minimum distance at Ayr on Monday and could benefit from stepping back up in distance.

Richard Fahey has a good record in this race and he is strongly represented today. Jockey bookings would suggest that Supplicant is his leading hope while Boy In The Bar seldom runs a bad race. Arctic Feeling also has a solid chance after returning to form last time, but a chance is taken on TATLISU. He had been in cracking form prior to a run that was too bad to be true in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot and two of his best performances have come under this talented conditional. Shared Equity has only finished out of the frame once in nine starts so he shouldn't be underestimated, while Munfallet, Mass Rally and Another Wise Kid are others to note.

TIGER JIM improved another chunk when quickening smartly to register his third career-win at Ayr recently. Maftool certainly wasn't disgraced when sixth in the Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot and should mount a bold bid providing this trip doesn't stretch his stamina too far (first try beyond 1m2f), while Godolphin's other runner, Festive Fare, warrants respect as he drops down from Group 2 company. Medrano is improving all the time and can run another big race, but PRINCE GAGARIN rates the one to beat having found subsequent Ribblesdale winner Curvy only one and three-quarter lengths too good when contesting a Group 3 prize at the Curragh last time.

Watch out for: Maftool (1)

FESTIVE FARE remains with potential, despite coming up short in stronger company this year. He shaped quite well when not beaten far in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot last time and has sound prospects of regaining the winning thread back at this more realistic level. Medrano should run his race again and is feared, along with Prince Gagarin, who will benefit from any further ease in the ground.

The form of SPOKESPERSON's dead-heat success at Ayr took a big boost when the third came out and won on Monday and, although a 6lb penalty will obviously make life more difficult, he might be able to strike again whilst the iron is hot. Starshaped remains relatively unexposed with only five runs under his belt and backed up his Newcastle success with a solid effort at Musselburgh latest. He rates the biggest threat ahead of Old Fashion, who continues to knock on the door.
