Any significant market support for the newcomers Los Cabos, Botteen and Boquilobo should be noted, but if neither of them are up to much at this stage, PUNTA GALERA looks sure to take a lot of beating. Short-headed by Tufton over 6f at Windsor last month, he was last of 6 in a Listed contest over a mile last time, but will be more at home here.
SERRE CHEVALIER arrives in tip-top shape having won three of his last four races over 7f. Racing over this C&D last time, he had too much in the closing stages for Sabbeeh and 11 others, and a 6lb rise may not be enough to halt his progress. Pango is another in fine fettle and a bold bid is expected, while value seekers should have a small each-way investment on Katiypour.
True Cause landed the odds over a mile at Nottingham last time out and will be a popular choice here to follow up. Almost Spinning has a progressive looking profile and will have her supporters, but this can fall to another smart colt in the shape of PRIVATE BUSINESS. Successful over 6f here in June on his debut, he made all for a comfortable success over a mile at Chester last time and can notch a third victory here.
Impeller is a worthy top weight and will not go down without a fight. Eden Rock went down in many a notebook for the season after scoring over a mile here in May after a lengthy absence, but he has failed to add to it. SALINJA bounced back to his best when scoring over 1m2f here last time and the slight drop in trip should not bother him in the slightest. Another win is within reach.
ASHDOWN EXPRESS is a wonderfully game and consistent performer, winning six times and running some cracking races in defeat in Group company. Only beaten 2 lengths in a Group 1 event over 6f at Haydock last time, he can end his long barren spell here. Baron's Pit appeals from an each-way perspective, but a bigger threat looms in the guise of Moss Vale, who has been a shade disappointing this term, but would be a threat if at his best.
Genghis has been placed in each of his last three outings on the level and has improved since over hurdles, rattling off an impressive four-timer. He has a decent chance but may be shackled by 10st. Palamedes was a game winner over 1m6f at Sandown last time and should appreciate the longer trip. He has a chance, but may have to play second fiddle to QUERIDO. An easy 7f winner just over a year ago, he has the ability to make it in the staying department and is well worth a try at 2m here.
Holbeck Ghyll can do nothing wrong at the moment, completing a fine hat-trick when scoring over 5f at Sandown on Friday. He must go close if turning out again. Wise Wager and Star Duster enter calculations, but this can fall to REVIEN. A winner over 5f on the polytrack at Lingfield back in February, he returned to form with a solid second on turf over 5f at Lingfield last time and is capable of making them all go here.
