SIR MONTY has been a beaten favourite in his last two starts, failing by a head in a race over this C&D last time out. A useful stayer, he could well come out on top here. Beauchamp Trump was the winner that day, but with a 1lb pull in the weights, the selection can exact his revenge. Reggae Rhythm is the pick of the remainder.
Little Miss Daisy (due to run at Salisbury yesterday) has been in good form recently and must enter calculations if running here. Go Figure is still a maiden but makes plenty of appeal from an each-way perspective. MEKYAAS has shown plenty of promise in her three outings to date over 7f, and she certainly has the ability to win a race of this nature.
She's My Outsider is a previous winner over a mile and is a worthy top weight here after chasing home Malahem over a mile at Lingfield last time. She has decent claims, as does Dhaular Dhar, who has dropped 1lb since his last effort over 1m1f at Epsom. SAND FAIRY scored over a mile on her debut but has since cost her followers a small fortune. A beaten favourite five times in her last seven starts, she is worth one more chance here to get it right.
KYDD GLOVES has yet to taste defeat in two starts and she looks well poised to complete the hat-trick. A filly on an upward curve, she can score here in the hands of Frankie Dettori. Into The Shadows has the ability to run into the frame but a bigger threat looms in the shape of Dance Partner. John Gosden's filly has not been out of the first two since her debut run and she is sure to be there or thereabouts at the finish.
SIGNATORY cost 600,000 dollars but looks a nice colt in the making. Successful over 1m2f at Pontefract last month when returning from a decent break, he certainly has the ability to improve and secure a fine double. Cross Time and Chantaco are both worth a second glance, while the consistent Alessano will be staying on well in the closing stages of the race.
Several consistent performers capable of landing a first victory in this event, notably Kiama, Beauchamp Tiger and Wingspeed. Copper Bay looks to have a small race in him, but the vote here goes to A THOUSAND SMILES. Never nearer when finishing fourth of 12 over 1m2f at Pontefract last month on her debut, a good effort from the winner that day, Signatory, earlier on the card, can cement her chances here.
MONTANA has a decent profile placing 10 times in 19 starts. Few would argue that he lacks what it takes to win a race, but this event is certainly there for the taking and he warrants support with Frankie Dettori an interesting jockey booking. Imperial Rule, Angel Rays and Mina all have some fair form in the book and are all capable of coing out on top.
This closing event looks a competitive affair with several of the runners holding strong claims, including Ofaraby, Little Good Bay, Tasdeed and Prime Number. GAVROCHE has really hit top form over the past couple of months, winning three of his last four starts. A game neck winner over 1m2f at Epsom last time, he has the scope to defy a 4lb rise in the ratings here to keep his fine run of form going.
