IBERIQUE DU SEUIL was taken out of his intended hurdling debut at Gowran due to good ground but there should be plenty of ease in the going here and the son of Spanish Moon looks a likely type for Gordon Elliott. He was second on his only start on the Flat in France in August and his half-brother won first time out over hurdles for Nicky Henderson last season. Powerful Kieran was far from disgraced in the Irish Cesarewitch after winning over 1m6f at Killarney and has jumping experience. He was second over a bit further in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle and will have learnt from that, although two miles over hurdles might be a bit sharp for him already. Four of these ran in the Gowran contest that the selection skipped and fifth home White Pepper, who handles testing ground, may reverse placings with runner-up Helvic Princess, who ran poorly on the Flat last week.

EXPLOSIVE BOY was out of action for over two years after a fall on his hurdling debut but made an encouraging return when third over a bit further here earlier in the month. He can make his race-fitness and hurdles experience tell against a couple of rivals who have been off a while, and Tony Martin has been doing well in recent weeks. Choice Of Words was a fine second to Grangee in a Grade 3 bumper at Punchestown in April having won easily on heavy ground at the same venue the previous month. She's worthy of respect along with Freedom To Dream, who got to within six lengths of Appreciate It in a bumper but has been off nearly two years. Derrylinda is another nice prospect who lacks a recent run, while Clonmel bumper winner Sam's Choice probably wants better ground.

Barry Connell tends to do well at this time of year when the NH season is stepping up a gear and CALL THE TUNE is interesting on his chasing bow. The Gold Well gelding was well clear of the remainder when second to Thursday's impressive chase winner Ballyshannon Rose over hurdles in January. He's been off since and might want further but the testing ground here will bring his stamina into play. Presented Well returned from a long layoff to be third on his chase debut at Listowel and, with the run under his belt, may reverse form with Gevrey, who was runner-up on that occasion. Dual chase winner Robinnia will have plenty of supporters but her best form is on good ground, whereas Razzle Dazzle Love will enjoy the ground and could be dangerous from the front. Experienced novice Choungaya is well exposed but has won on this type of surface and his fourth in a Grade 3 contest at Punchestown was a creditable effort.

A few high class sorts in the line-up and COLONEL MUSTARD should be able to open his account over hurdles. The Punchestown bumper winner has shown plenty of promise since sent over hurdles and was asked a couple of big questions in Graded company last spring. He made the frame behind Echoes Of Rain at Fairyhouse and was runner-up to the same progressive rival, with Blue Lord third, in the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. Harry Alonzo was a smart sort in bumpers last term and is an interesting recruit to hurdles. He won at Leopardstown last Christmas and beat all bar the odds-on Letsbeclearaboutit at Fairyhouse. Gamin Original held every chance when exiting at the last here in July and adds further spice to a classy maiden.

COVENTRY finished strongly up the Navan hill to land a maiden hurdle last spring and again finished well last time over two miles at Listowel to suggest this step up in trip should suit. The well-bred son of Galileo has also shown stamina on the Flat including when just denied by My Sister Sarah at Listowel back in June. Rachael Blackmore makes a welcome return to action aboard Balko Des Flos, who reappears after running a cracker last time when second to stablemate Minella Times in the Grand National. Discorama is another smart staying chaser making his return over hurdles and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in their favour. Jiving Jerry has a chance off a light weight, while Punchestown Festival winner Guiri is another to consider.

GLENQUIN CASTLE has a tendency to do just enough and as a result has kept on the right side of the handicapper. The Martin Brassil-trained gelding won three times over fences and reverted to hurdles to complete a four-timer over this trip at Tipperary earlier this month. The seven-year-old looked set for a cosy win jumping the last but just held on after finding little in front and may still have enough up his sleeve to defy a 7lb hike in the ratings. Stolen Moment kept on nicely in the straight behind the selection and should again go well, while Courting Vickie and Moyode Lady are others to consider. Roped In didn't show much on her first two starts but there was definite promise last time in a Cork maiden hurdle and the full-sister to recent Munster National winner Ontheropes is one to note on her handicap debut.

Le Nouveau ran a cracker on debut over course and distance at the Festival meeting in a bumper that has worked out particularly well. The half-brother to The New One would be difficult to beat if reproducing that form but he's since failed to justify evens favouritism when sixth at Listowel. NOBLE BIRTH finished nine lengths ahead when runner-up to Esperti in that Listowel event and may well progress as that came off the back of a six-month break. Da Capo Glory is another to consider having finished fifth last time in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at the Punchestown Festival while Flemen's Tipple, Fenna's Loss and the Derek O'Connor-ridden Halligator are three newcomers to note in the market.
