WHISPERINTHEBREEZE followed up a promising third on his hurdles debut behind subsequent Ballymore Novices' Hurdle fourth Scarpeta by winning at Naas, and an initial mark of 122 may underestimate him. Icario has a big weight to carry but looks a strong type and likely built for chasing sooner rather than later. Pete So High showed tenacity when winning at Limerick and should go close again, and the likes of Chesterfield King and Manger Et Trotter are others to consider.
This is seriously competitive, but QUAMINO reacted really well to the fitting of a tongue strap when successful at Wexford a fortnight, and given he was value for quite a bit extra, the follow up is a real possibility. Corri Lindo, Icario and Golden Jewel head the opposition.

Getabird never looked comfortable when a well-beaten favourite in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham and can probably be opposed here, despite reverting to a right-handed track. Hardline continues to progress, though he doesn't look open to as much improvement as SAYAR. Well touted after his maiden hurdle win at Kilbeggan in August, he followed up against a decent yardstick at Tipperary in October and can provide Willie Mullins with a fifth win in this race in the last six years.
Willie Mullins has saddled the winner of this race 5 times since 2009 and GETABIRD can enhance that already impressive record. Though bitterly disappointing in the Supreme at the Cheltenham Festival, it's far too soon to forget just how good he looked when winning the Moscow Flyer at Punchestown and it could be that he's better going right-handed. Stablemates Sharjah and Sayar can fill the places.

Whilst Bleu Berry, Identity Thief and Barra arrive on the back of impressive displays at Cheltenham, they were all involved in tough races and could be worth opposing just shy of three weeks after the Festival. It might be worth chancing CONEY ISLAND, who looked to 'bounce' in the Ascot Chase in February. Monbeg Notorious spearheads the Gigginstown assault, with the leading owners also having Grade One winner Outlander, highly-regarded novice Dounikos and previous winner Thunder And Roses among their 10 representatives. Gordon Elliott is responsible for Monbeg Notorious and Outlander, and he also has the Punchestown Grand National Trial winner Folsom Blue to call upon from his 13-strong squad. His quirky Kim Muir third Squouateur will need to reverse Cheltenham form with Mall Dini, but it may be worth chancing another of Elliott's 13, BLESS THE WINGS, to make it third-time lucky in a race he has finished second in in the last two years. He is back to the same figure off which he chased home Our Duke in 2017 and providing his Cheltenham fall hasn't left a mark, he can be carefully nursed into the race by Brian Hughes, who could prove to be a shrewd jockey booking.
PAIROFBROWNEYES was much improved when making a successful start for Willie Mullins at Gowran last month and remains unexposed as a staying chaser. He's taken to land this big prize. The Kim Muir form offers some big clues, with the second Mall Dini and third Squouateur, one of a potential 13 runners for Gordon Elliott, looking key players. Gordon Elliott has been the man to follow in staying chases this year and he can land this with POORMANS HILL, who has won three of his four outings in 2018 and can provide Jack Kennedy with back-to-back victories in the race. Stablemate Out Sam has been threatening in these type of contests and could build on his unlucky third behind the selection in the Ulster National, while White Arm took this last season but is a 15lb higher this time around.
POORMANS HILL has to improve again to win his fifth race over fences here after being put up ten pounds by the handicapper but he just keeps on improving for Gordon Elliott and may well add one more victory before being weighted out of things. Stable-companion Out Sam could prove to be his biggest rival yet and may be the one for the forecast leaving Paper Lantern as the each-way alternative.
