As ever, this looks an interesting renewal on paper but it could be worth taking a chance on HIS LORDSHIP on his return from 20 months off the track. Grant Cann's 8-y-o has always shown promise and it is no surprise to see connection persevere with him having chased home the high-class Al Ferof at Taunton back in 2011. Printmaker won a couple of Flat races at 1m1f and 1m3f and warrants plenty of respect on his debut under Rules for the shrewd John Ferguson team, while All Systems Go and Tamira make up the shortlist.

Watch out for: Printmaker (12)

This doesn't look anywhere near as strong as many of the novice hurdles run here and Printmaker should take a bit of stopping if he can translate anything like his Flat ability. Tamira wouldn't have to be any great shakes to figure on debut for the Hobbs/Johnson combination, while bumper winner Favoured Nation looks sure to do better over hurdles before too much longer.

JEWELLERY impressed with wins at Fontwell and Newton Abbot last month and, although a further 13lb rise is sure to make life a lot tougher, this tough front-running sort appears to have been found another fantastic opportunity to hit the target. Flying Vic was fairly disappointing in three starts last season after connections splashed out 30,000 pounds for the son of Old Vic and he looks vulnerable on his return, so handicap debutuant Annaluna rates the bigger threat.

Jewellery has looked a different proposition entirely since joining her current yard, and with a dearth of convincing opponents taking her on here, the hat-trick very much looks on the cards. Each of the four runners look to have some sort of chance but TIM THE CHAIR sets the standard. He produced a career best performance when scoring over 3m2f on his latest run at Uttoxeter in May (third has won since) and a 6lb rise may not be enough to stop him if he can reproduce that level of performance. It's Like That is well treated on best form and gets on particularly well with Alan Berry. That pair are respected, while Ammunition could prove next best.

The betting market may prove best guide to Red Mile's chances as he returns from a 566-day absence, while similar comments apply to Qualviro, who makes his debut for the Tim Vaughan stable today. The vote, however, goes to hat-trick seeking BENNYS MIST. He impressed with a couple of hurdle wins on similarly soft ground in May and Venetia Williams is sure to have him intensively schooled prior to this first run over the larger obstacles.

The fast improving SOUTHWAY STAR produced her best effort yet when scoring on similarly testing ground at Newton Abbot latest and, with a record of four wins from five starts under conditional jockey Micheal Nolan, she is fancied to defy a 7lb penalty and deliver the goods again. Cadoudalas lines up off a 23lb lower mark than when placed over fences at Ludlow last time and must enter calculations, while the dropped-in-class Pericoloso cannot be ruled out either.
