Albert Tatlock thrived when eased to 6f for a Redcar maiden last month and Dandy Nicholls' charge is respected under 3lb claimer Shirley Teasdale off a mark of 72 for his handicap bow. BE MY ROCK get the vote, however, with Rae Guest's yard going well at present. His Rock Of Gibraltar filly has already proved she handles soft ground when a close-up second at Ffos two starts ago and, if able to settle in behind a strong pace dropping from 1m, she can defy top weight. Rocky Reef makes most appeal of the others.

Proofreader has been pitched into the deep end following his Newmarket maiden success in June, but it would come as no surprise if John Gosden's charge ran a big race on his second career start and handicap bow, with a move up to 1m4f expected to suit the son of Authorized. Preference is for experience, however, and connections of ART SCHOLAR will have taken plenty of encouragement from his most recent Nottingham effort behind the very well handicapped and unbeaten First Mohican. Raised 2lb for that, Michael Appleby's can frank the form on ground he relishes. Also keep an eye on Fulgur and Bridle Belle.

The Kyllachy filly has done nothing but improve this season and she has been dropped 1lb in the ratings for what was a creditable performance in similar company at Haydock last month. Jack Dexter arrives on a hat-trick and it was tough not to be impressed with the way he scored at Ascot on Champions Day last week so he must be taken seriously, along with Mass Rally and Ballista.

A cracking heat. Jack Dexter continues to progress at a rate of knots, but is vulnerable dropping down to this minimum trip and Dungannon and Kaldoun Kingdom are preferred. Kingsbarns was supplemented for the race earlier this week and must be feared following an impressive Navan maiden win but he's taken on with the proven Group-level performer TRADING LEATHER. Jim Bolger's charge stepped up to score in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket last time and the stoutly-bred son of Teofilo is expected to improve again now tried at the highest level. Royal Lodge winner Steeler cannot be overlooked and he's taken to confirm his HQ superiority over fourth home Birdman, while Van Der Neer is bidding to land a hat-trick and maintain his unbeaten record but he'll need more in this company.

INTIMIDATE was beginning to prove a shade frustrating to follow but his form has always been rock solid and he appeared at home on testing conditions when easily breaking his duck at Yarmouth recently. That opening success will have done his confidence the world of good and his current handicap mark doesn't look beyond him. Code Of Honor could well improve from his shock Newbury win last month but he faces vastly different underfoot conditions here. One who is proven in the ground is recent Haydock scorer Pure Excellence, while the improving Ready is another who must be considered.

TAAYEL stepped up from his impressive winning Yarmouth debut when running a fine race in the Group 2 Mill Reef stakes last month, finishing third to the top-class Moohaajim. The experience gained there will have done him the world of good and with the promise of more come, he should prove hard to beat eased into this grade. Body And Soul has enjoyed a fine season and landed another big pot when winning the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar recently, while Invincible Warrior looked a smart colt in the making when scoring at Kempton and is well worth his place in this line-up.

SKILFUL boasts by far and away the strongest recent form claims and should prove hard to peg back. The 4-y-o relished these conditions when landing a valuable Ascot handicap over this trip three weeks ago and, if anything, he has less on his plate this afternoon. Monsieur Chevalier makes only his second start for his new stable but struggled on his reappearance at Ascot and has a bit to prove now, withe similar sentiments also applicable to one-time Classic hope Bronterre, bitterly disappointing in three starts so far this season.

Skilful was most impressive when making all in a competitive handicap at Ascot earlier this month and is fancied to get the better of Captain Ramius once again. Bronterre has the ability to play a part if bouncing back.
