STEPHEN'S REVENGE recorded the highest last speed figure when going down by a length as he dropped to this grade over C&D and he looks the safest option in the opener. It is an open event, however, and the progressive Stormy Acre, the eased-in-grade Splendiferous and last-time-out second Tapitdar all represent serious threats.
BRIGAND could hardly have been more impressive when completing a double in a similar C&D event earlier this month and a hat-trick beckons this evening. Summer Sunset and Equivocation can fight it out for the minor money.
Union Boss landed a C&D event in good style latest but she wasn't as impressive as CATALONIA, who clocked a higher speed figure in her four-length victory over this track and trip and a repeat performance should suffice. Superstitious Love is another to consider following her maiden win.
TWIRL mixed with the best fillies of her generation in the UK and looks capable of making a winning start to her US career this evening if in the same form as when landing a Listed event in good style at Gowran Park last time out. Should the selection need more time to acclimatise then Zultanite, who returned to form with a C&D victory last time, will be ready to pounce. The lightly-raced Thunderous Lady steps up in class but made it three wins from four last month and there could be plenty more to come.
Princess Jenny, White Sangria and Desert Bliss could all have more to offer after getting off the mark last time out but more is needed in this company. It may be best to concentrate on Strike Accord and QUIET ENDING, who have been knocking hard on the door at this level, with preference for the latter who finished a close second latest.
There should be no need to look past MOONSHINE BAY who has won his last three starts, all in similar company to this, and he boasts a tremendous record at this venue. Chief Carlson and Bravo Habibi can chase him home.
Some interesting newcomers line up here and the market should be monitored for any significant support, but it may be safer to side with those with experience. Going Going Gone and Silver Mast have shown ability but YES IT'S PINK has been knocking hard on the door and deserves a change of luck.
ARENA ELVIRA's long winning sequence came to an end when she came home third in this grade at Hawthorne, but this doesn't look as tough and the Grade 2 winner should bounce back tonight. R Gypsy Gold is proven at this level and looks the biggest threat to the selection ahead of Afleeting Lady.
Associate, Private Tale and Gallant Fields deserve the step up to Grade 3 company after scoring in good style at a lower level last time out but they will do well to get the better of CAIXA ELETRONICA. The selection had the reopposing Little Drama back in fourth when filling the runner-up berth in a Grade 1 over 6f here latest and he will relish this drop in class.
After scoring in this grade over 1m, recording the highest last speed figure in the process, COMMITMENT LETTER is taken to stage a follow up as he drops in trip. Fellow last-time-out winners Mr Rosenthal, All For The Trip and Little Dale complete the shortlist.
