SUPER NEKIA returned to the form of his debut second when filling the runner-up berth over 6f here earlier in the month and he looks primed to get off the mark this evening. Briney Lad was on an upward curve when last seen and must be accorded respect on his return from a winter break, while the well-connected newcomer Hey Ang may prove next best.
A number of these have shown plenty of promise to date but the one who stands out is MACHO STAR who finished really well when third around here on debut earlier this month. There should be more to come and the Randy Nunley-trained gelding can prove too strong for Wild Jersey Boy and Leather tonight.
This could turn into a match between recent track and trip runner-up Two Spot Club and CHARLOTTE'S DI who really ought to have won here on her last start back in April. Preference is for the latter with Bitter Lemon making most appeal of the remainder.
FIRST LADY GLENNA returned to winning ways over this track and trip earlier in the month and she could take all the beating again if in a similar mood tonight. Gilded Arrow hinted at a return to form when third here at the start of the month and the downgraded Golden Horseshoe is another to consider.
INFIELD has any amount in hand when running out a wide margin victor around here last time and although he faces a tougher task tonight, he could prove hard to beat if returning in the same form. My Baby T comes into this in good form and rates as the main danger with No Crossing Lane making up the short-list.
A trappy little maiden in which strong market support for newcomers Shirleyandmargaret, Bikini or Silver Reunion should probably be heeded. Experience often holds the key though and PERFECT PET, who improved on her debut run when second over this trip at Pimlico late last month, has done more than enough to suggest she can get off the mark.
WESTSIDE FLYER opened his account in terrific style at Philadelphia earlier this month and he could prove worth following over the coming months. He gets the vote tonight with recent track winners Beyond Ready and Hear My Voice looking the main dangers.
Lovers Spat has been running well in similar contests but has never run on turf before while My Main Starr comes here on a hat trick but is stepping up in class. This should go to FAREENA, who has never run on anything but turf to date. She won her first two races in some style and has followed up with two places in better races than this. She should prove far too good tonight.
EXTREME NOTICE failed to justify favouritism over track and trip on his return from a two-month break earlier in the month, but he was far from disgraced in defeat that day and can build on it tonight. Bear Heart takes a slight drop in class and must be respected on his best form, while the highly consistent Power Numbers is one for every combination bet.
