TRUE WINK finished second in a similar event over an extended 5f here on his debut and might be capable of going one better. Eternal Star also picked up a place here in his previous start, although that was over 5f and this extra furlong might be a problem. Majestic Melody was backed into favouritism on his debut and shouldn't be ruled out despite finishing a disappointing seventh.
Returning from an eight-week break after twice hitting the crossbar in similar events here, Bondage is entitled to be involved in the finish, but MO CUISHLE was an easy 6f maiden winner here a month ago and is fancied to relish this longer trip. Memory Of Mitch came third in a similar affair last time and could also trouble the judge.
MANSET claimed a creditable third over C&D in June and has what it takes to succeed here. Secretintelligence finished second over 5f last time and has place prospects if he stays this far, while Martha's Mon has twice reached the frame in his four-race career and might again. With trainer Scott Lake in such good form, Graynumberfive cannot be entirely dismissed either.
A decent second in a similar C&D event last time, her third consecutive runner-up prize, FIVE STAR DREAM should once again account for No Fair and make a bold bid to earn a deserved victory. Wild Thoughts is out of a successful dam and could make her mark first time out.
SO SWANKY has an obvious chance after notching his second career success just over a fortnight ago as this looks less competitive. Evil Storm (2nd) easily took the measure of Terrific Tom (4th) here last month and looks the main danger, although Gold Casing is entitled to improve for his recent reappearance after a six-month break.
With three consecutive runner-up prizes in the bag, STAY CLOSE is fancied to go one better today. Freshened up since winning a sprint in early May, Partition should be monitored for support on his return to a longer trip, while Broadway Idol posted a new career-best performance last time and seems certain to be involved in the finish.
Last seen winning a Grade 1 by 3 lengths in November, I'M THE TIGER should be capable of collecting here if anywhere near peak fitness. Recent C&D winner City Weekend is the most logical alternative if the selection is found lacking, although Joey Carson has only once tasted defeat in his six-race career and might have other ideas about that.
Ramon Dominguez will provide plenty of assistance from the saddle in an attempt to guide CONTRAST to a fifth career victory from six starts. Alan Goldberg's runner has looked like she is ready for this step up in class and holds both Miss Elsie and Thats Our Song on previous running. The obvious danger is Trickle Of Gold who is a proven competitor at this level.
Icy Atlantic will prove a popular selection after a confidence-boosting victory when last seen. It may be wise to side with FISHY ADVICE, however, as he did well to land a valuable claimer on his return to action in May. He acts well on turf tracks and has some highly creditable form to his name.
After landing the odds at Belmont Park last month, LATENT HEAT may be able to follow up in this better contest. He was placed in a Grade 2 in March and, with only four career starts to his name, could have more to offer. Cat Criminal and Little Cliff are sure to make him work to take the honours.
