The well-bred Rigoletta shaped well over C&D here in June and in similar company, the Jim Bolger charge can get serious when push comes to shove having had the benefit of a second run. Preference, however, is for MADHMOONAH who represents the value bet here following a promising display at Kilbeggan in August. The penny appears to have dropped and the Invincible Spirit filly is likely to have come on again for that particular occasion. Elsewhere, a positive market move for either of the newcomers will be interesting, Rock Magic and View appealing most of those.
Madhmoonah and, to a greater extent, Rigoletta, set a useful standard for the debutants to aim at. However, there a number of interesting newcomers, particularly Wading who may well be up to making a winning debut.

Experience arrives with exactly that and the Excellent Art filly is expected to appreciate this drop in class. The consistent An Ghalanta seems to have hit a good run of form and is another that can benefit from having had plenty of experience but all eyes will be on BORN TO SEA, a half-brother to the incredible Sea The Stars. The John Oxx inmate is impeccably bred by Invincible Spirit and the unraced colt holds an Epsom Derby entry. Elsewhere, Crusade and Bible Black aren't without chances in this company.
Experience ought to be in the mix but Crusade did the job well in a C&D maiden last month and may well take this step up in class in his stride. An Ghalanta and Bible Back are also accorded respect, while it's interesting that John Oxx has elected to pitch Born To Sea in at this level on debut.

Tough As Nails is certainly living up to his namesake and while the Dark Angel colt appears to have something to find on his rivals, the Michael Mulvany charge is likely to be on offer at a tempting each-way price. Coventry Stakes winner and Phoenix runner-up, Power, is one of those and the Aidan O'Brien representative was desperately unlucky not to stretch his winning run to four last time. The English raider TALWAR gets the nod despite taking this step up in class, as the well-bred Acclamation colt continues to progress and seemingly enjoys any ease in the ground. Vault and Dragon Pulse rate best of the rest.
The form of the British raider Talwar is more about style than substance so far, so it's best to focus on the Irish runners, and in particular Dragon Pulse and Power. The former took a couple of runs to find his feet but he looked a really exciting prospect in the Futurity and is the one to beat on that showing.

FAME AND GLORY suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Fictional Account in a trial for this, but that was his first run since his imperious Ascot Gold Cup romp and Aidan O'Brien's top-class performer will strip considerably fitter. British raiders make up half the field and Red Cadeaux took the Curragh Cup at this venue, but he was behind Jukebox Jury in the Prix Kergorlay when the Mark Johnston-trained grey proved his stamina for this sort of distance. Duncan can't be ruled out either.
Fame And Glory is undoubtedly a class act but his odds are prohibitive. Duncan should get closer to Aidan O'Brien's charge than he did at Royal Ascot but the vote goes to Jukebox Jury who rates a solid value alternative to Fame And Glory.

John Oxx and Johnny Murtagh teamed up to land Group 3 success in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday for Aga Khan and the 95-rated Dimona looks well treated in this handicap event despite having a tough task on her hands against the boys. Star Power is beginning to find his best form and is another with claims but MUCH ACCLAIMED gets the vote. Winning form at the Galway Festival over 1m 4f bodes well and the way in which he stayed on there suggests the step up in trip shouldn't pose many problems off a 4lb higher mark. Monte Carlo and Kalann are others with genuine claims.

Many well-regarded yards represented in the finale and jockey bookings suggest that the beautifully bred Handazan is the main John Oxx hope. However, it might pay to side with WIMPOLE STREET. The Hurricane Run colt made a more than pleasing start at Kilbeggan over this distance and appeared suited by the soft ground underfoot. He is likely to have improved for that initial experience. Of the others with racecourse experience, Pacific Wave makes most appeal following an encouraging debut. Positive market vibes for either of the newcomers could be worth taking note of with Calgacus and Don Long making most appeal.
This has all the makings of a strong maiden, with plenty of well-bred sorts from big yards in the line up. Wimpole Street is sure to go the right way from a promising debut and gets the vote, though, ahead of a couple of likely newcomers, Heavy Weight and Calgacus.
