IRISH SAINT could hardly have been more impressive when winning at Kempton on his first run for Paul Nicholls last month and he looks sure to take plenty of beating this afternoon. Rolling Star joined Nicky Henderson after an easy win on his hurdles debut at Auteuil and he is a very interesting contender. Knight Of Pleasure got the better of For Two on his hurdling bow at Sandown and he should not be underestimated.

Katenko won well at Sandown last time and an 11lb rise might not stop him from going well again. Our Mick is an interesting contender on his seasonal debut and the progressive Bold Sir Brian has to be on the shortlist following his Sandown demolition job last month. It's impossible to look past SPRINTER SACRE in the feature event. Nicky Henderson's star gelding is one of the most exciting horses in training and it's very hard not to be impressed with the way he travels and jumps. He should have few problems taking his chase record to seven from seven today. Sanctuaire is the confirmed front-runner in this line-up and, although no match for the favourite in the Tingle Creek at Sandown last month, he is fancied to hold out for second spot on this occasion, ahead of Kumbeshwar, runner-up in in the Tingle Creek, and the progressive William's Wishes.

Imperial Commander has raced just three times since winning the 2010 Gold Cup and has been off the track for the best part of two years but he has a decent record fresh and, if anywhere near his best, he could go close in receipt of weight from all his rivals. Weird Al was not disgraced in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on his first run of the season and it would be no surprise to see him go well, along with Grands Crus, who showed some sign of returning to his best when third to Long Run in the King George on Boxing Day. TIDAL BAY has been called some names over the years but there is little doubting he is a class act. He landed the Grade 1 Lexus Chase at Leopardstown last month and looks sure to play a leading role if given the go-ahead following some concerns over his wellbeing earlier in the week. Hunt Ball has each-way prospects.

Coneygree is unbeaten over hurdles and two of his three successes have come in Grade 2 company, one over this C&D, so there is every reason to expect another big run from him. Whisper was impressive on his hurdling debut at Ffos Las last month and he must be respected along with the progressive Fishers Cross. However, the one to beat is THE NEW ONE. He won a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree last season and is yet to taste defeat in three runs over hurdles this term. He faces his toughest test yet over timber today but he can pass with flying colours.

Oscar Whisky has not yet proved that he stays this far and on his only previous try at the trip, over this C&D in the World Hurdle last March, he travelled very nicely before fading in the closing stages. Consequently, with this likely to be run at a good pace with Carruthers and Knockara Beau in the line-up, it might be worth taking him on. REVE DE SIVOLA slammed Smad Place by 14 lengths in the Grade 1 Long Walk at Ascot last month and could be the beneficiary if Nicky Henderson's representative does not see out the trip. Lovcen has struggled over fences of late but he could surprise reverting to hurdles this afternoon, a comment that also applies to stablemate Walkon and the Paul Nicholls-trained Kauto Stone.

Lord Of The House is progressive but a 15lb rise for his Sandown win last time might be enough to halt him. Sadler's Risk has each-way claims on his return to action and the same comment applies to Barbatos. Kings Lad merits consideration on his handicap debut but MR WATSON gets the nod. A most impressive winner at Plumpton earlier this month, his opening mark of 127 looks very fair and he could leave the handicapper with egg on his face.
