TEDSTALE comes out favourably on official figures and should make a bold bid. He ran over an inadequate trip last time but had previously been successful in two similar races to this including over C&D. Track specialist Court Of Appeal remains in good order and can make his presence felt. Last time out winner Evolution Ex is another to consider at this level, as is the lightly weighted Maria Antonia.
LUSCIVIOUS scorched the turf over C&D last time to give rookie trainer Alan McCabe his first winner. He benefited for the drop down to the minimum trip there and he could possibly have more to offer yet. The Nifty Fox won the other division of the maiden that day but the time was nearly a second slower and he needs to pull out more. Durova is a consistent filly and put up another good effort on her nursery debut at Chester last time and cannot be left out of calculations here.
LAFI has not had the best of luck this season and once again had a troubled passage at Ascot last weekend. Howvere, he has dropped another 2lbs and is given another chance. Mecca's Mate keeps performing with credit but she is still 10lb higher than her last handicap success. Nevertheless, she should be thereabouts, while Cape Royal ran a lot better last time at Bath than he had done previously but his profile is a bit in and out to say the least.
Rosbay was put up a stiff 11lbs for his Newcastle win and while he still ran well last time he may need a further drop before winning again. CELTIC STEP created a good impression when winning on his penultimate start at Leicester before finishing only a fair third at Ayr on his latest outing. It appeared that the mile just stretched him that day and it is no surprise to see back down a furlong. Lemon Silk finished one place in front of him at Ayr but the selection is now 2lb better off. The progressive Fractured Foxy is a big danger to all
Cedarlea has been runner up in both starts to date and he is one of the more likely ones in this heat. MUSCA only found the useful Silent Waves too good for him on his debut at Ayr and he pulled well clear of the remainder. He has not been seen since that outing in June but his stable is just staring to tick along now and he looks the one to beat. Run Free stepped up considerably from his debut run at York last time and he can go close if reproducing that effort. Hunting Call is another to consider.
PEE JAYS DREAM seems to have improved over the summer and got off the mark for the first time at Pontefract on his penultimate start. Another good effort 4 days ago make him the one to beat. Onyergo finished second in a big field here last time and if anything this race does not look as strong so he must have every chance. Sweet Lavinia was not disgraced last time at Newcastle and she is unexposed at this sort of trip and could have more to offer.
Countdown was stepping up to this trip last time and produced a solid running on third. Although he has to shoulder top-weight he is not that badly treated on his best form. VANILLA DELIGHT was given a positive ride last time and did nothing wrong only finding one to good in the latter stages. That was only her fifth outing and she could gain compensation here. Viva Volta has fair C&D form but might need this after a three month absence and one at a bigger price could be Cornus who has run better that the bare results suggest lately.
