He should be winning soon but might find one too good today in the shape of FLYING STATESMAN, who overcame a poor start to finish second over 6f at York on his debut. Dropped in class today, he should have learned enough from his debut run to land this. The newcomers, Layali Al Andulus and Paradise Spectre, look nice sorts and can fight out the minor honours.

Salerosa, only just got home at Beverley two starts ago and struggled off this mark last time at Doncaster. She'll need to improve to land this while Willyn was well beaten off this mark over 1m 1f here on her seasonal debut and may need some help from the handicapper. PANTHERII hasn't run for a year but looks reasonably weighted on her best form. She could be suited by this return to a mile and might be open to some improvement. She gets the vote here.

A better bet could prove to be ALWAYS BEST, who tired into a distant third over 1m 5f at Musselburgh on his seasonal reappearance last month. He should have improved for the run, will be suited by the longer trip and has won off a similar mark last year. He gets the vote. Kyber and Fistral look best of the rest and can fight out the minor honours.

He started the year with a win on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and since then has scored twice over hurdles, including a Grade 3 success at Haydock last month. Back on the Flat, he should prove too good for these rivals. Beaumont Bay is a pretty consistent sort but is still a maiden after 23 starts and the inconsistent Darfour, who has gone close off similar marks in the past, might be the one for the forecast.
