Beyond Conceit overcame a long absence when landing a novice hurdle at Newbury last month and it will be interesting to see if he can go on from that, though others arguably set a much stronger form standard. Topofthegame ran to a decent level of form in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham last time and should be thereabouts, though it is interesting that ACTING LASS was sent off favourite ahead of Finian's Oscar when runner-up to the Tizzard runner at Hereford in December. With that form looking rock-solid in view of the winner's subsequent victories in the Tolworth and at Exeter, he rates as nap material.
Useful Flat performer BEYOND CONCEIT overcame a mammoth absence to score on hurdling debut at Newbury last month. He needs to prove he can stand up to regular racing but looks well worth supporting given the impression made. Topofthegame is an exciting Paul Nicholls recruit who is feared, whilst Acting Lass, who bumped into Finian's Oscar last time, is also worth a second look.

A race short on numbers but certainly not quality. Arpege D'alene hasn't done a lot wrong since his comeback run at Chepstow and looks sure to be in there pitching again, while last season's Punchestown Festival winner Fletchers Flyer can improve on his comeback run over C&D. Bigbadjohn was unlucky when slipping up at Doncaster but had previously chase home current Gold Cup favourite Thistlecrack. He must enter calculations, but in receipt of weight from all the above and edging the vote is LABEL DES OBEAUX. You can almost set your clock by Alan King's charge he is that consistent and a runaway victory at Ludlow recently will have done his confidence the world of good.
ARPEGE D'ALENE has been a different horse over fences since fitted with blinkers and can continue the good work and land this Grade 2 prize for the Paul Nicholls team. Fletchers Flyer shaped as if needing the run on his C&D reappearance and may provide the biggest threat if recapturing his Punchestown handicap form of last spring.

Last year's winner Sausalito Sunrise must bounce back from a fall at Haydock last time but he remains a classy operator who should go well, while O'Faolains Boy is another smart performer who must be respected on his first start since the Cheltenham Gold Cup back in March. He actually beat Sausalito Sunrise at Newbury last season, while Tenor Nivernais is most consistent and should give his running again. However, the two improvers could be the pair to concentrate on with GO CONQUER, a fine second to Double Shuffle in a valuable handicap at Kempton over Christmas just preferred to impressive Hereford victor Chef D'oeuvre.
VIRAK has yet to fire this season but he shaped better than the bare result in the Peter Marsh at Haydock 4 weeks ago and could be worth chancing off a reduced mark. Last year's winner Sausalito Sunrise is next best ahead of Go Conquer.

The son of Presenting ran a blinder when chasing home the impressive Modus in the Lanzarote at Kempton last month and with that form working out really well, he still appeals as a well-handicapped animal off just a 3lb higher mark. Air Horse One rates a serious danger having taken another step up the ladder with a stylish success at Taunton while there could still be better to come from Doesyourdogbite (sixth in Lanzarote). Ordo Ab Chao and Oscar Hoof return from lengthy layoffs but were both exciting novices when last sighted and have certainly been given a chance by the handicapper.
Any number of imponderables, chiefly how much ability long-absent pair ORDO AB CHAO and Oscar Hoof retain. The former has been given a massive chance by the handicapper on his novice form in 2014/15, so it's worth chancing his well-being. CUE CARD has had an up-and-down season this year by his lofty standards, but still looks the likeliest winner by some margin. Third behind Irish Cavalier in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby, he showed that to be all wrong when blasting the field in the Betfair Chase at Haydock. Only an incredible display of jumping from fellow Colin Tizzard inmate Thistlecrack stopped him securing a second King George success and he could prove a cut above these rivals. At any other track, Royal Regatta would look outclassed but his impressive Ascot record means he has claims, though perhaps a bigger danger could be Taquin Du Seuil, who tends to come to life at this time of year and is already a dual Grade 1 winner.
CUE CARD wasn't at his best behind Thistlecrack in the King George last time, though the ground was probably firm enough for him, so he's fully expected to get back on track and set himself up nicely for another tilt at the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Taquin du Seuil is a classy performer on his day, and with likely conditions to suit, is chosen for the forecast spot.

Reine Des Miracles made an encouraging start to her racing career when second at Wetherby for Micky Hammond and has since joined Jonjo O'Neill, while fellow four-year-old Cadeaux's Fire looks more like a sprinter on pedigree, but could be classy enough if staying this far. Sweetlittlemystery and Lady Valerie did well enough to score on their debuts and could go close, but preference is for STORM PATROL. Second in a bumper at Huntingdon on her debut, she found herself in too deep in a Grade 2 at Aintree but could still be classy enough to land this on her return to action.
It may pay to focus on the previous winners, with the Robert Stephens-trained Southwell debut scorer LADY VALERIE getting a narrow vote ahead of Sweetlittlemystery and Fergal O'Brien's Dont Tell Val.
