Michael Dods has had to show admirable patience during the early part of the turf season with quick ground not suitable for a lot of his horses but that trait has been rewarded in recent weeks with his team now in their much more familiar winning habit.
From his base at Denton Hall, four miles from Darlington, Dods sent out 12 winners in July which dwarfed his tally for the previous three months and it looks onwards and upwards with 25 winners for the year so far and £265,903 in prize money.
Dods is looking forward to the return of classy Tatterstall in the coming weeks and current stable stalwart Commanche Falls showed his return to winning form is not too far away with another solid effort in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last Saturday. Northern Ticker is another who sticks out as potential winner in the near future and there are several consistent types in his care that could well be poised for further success.
With the heavens looking likely to open this week in the North, Dods kindly spoke to Tony Elves for attheraces.com about his team.
