Michael Jarvis' Stanley George made a promising debut but still looks opposable on account of a somewhat disappointing display here earlier in the month. Miss Fancy Pants is an interesting newcomer for the Mark Johnston yard, while Law Of The Land has gone close in similar company. Preference, though, is for Eddie Ahern's mount AUSSIE CRICKET whose best effort came over a slightly shorter trip in a tougher heat here last month.
It's very hard to look beyond Luca Cumani's FILIOS in this contest and he should get off the mark at the third time of asking. After showing real promise first time out on the all-weather at Kempton, he disappointed when heavily supported at Brighton earlier this month, but looks to have been found a race to break his duck. Callisto Moon ran well here on Saturday and earns the vote for next best ahead of Poyle Kiera.
Nicada scored over 7f in a modest handicap here last time out, but this looks a little tougher and he could be found out today by PETROSIAN. Mark Johnston's colt has just qualified for nurseries and should go very close in this company on only his fourth racecourse appearance. Copper King could give the selection most to worry about as the step up in trip should prompt further progress.
ONE NIGHT IN PARIS shouldn't have to do much more than when second over 6f here some three weeks ago to go one better this afternoon. She will strip fitter for that first run since April and should certainly appreciate today's extra furlong. Jeremy Noseda's Kilgary looks to be getting the hang of things, while Benny The Bus and Creme Brulee will take a hand in the finish if recapturing their best form.
NANDO'S DREAM is quickly realising her potential and enters the handicap sphere under a featherweight. A reproduction of her C&D win earlier this month should be enough to get the better of today's more exposed rivals. Grave Matters will be fresh from her Irish exploits and looks the surprise package, while Newnham has become a course specialist who can never be discounted round here.
A wide-open heat to end the card and a long odds winner wouldn't be a major shock. Plenty of C&D winners on show and all could go close if finding their best. BOND PLAYBOY will relish the switch back to an all-weather surface and is taken to regain the winning thread, having not scored since 2004. Musical Script is open to improvement, while Mr Incredible should also give a good account of himself.
