Mark Johnston is represented by the Pursuit Of Love debutante Feeling Wonderful and Streamer who made a satisfactory debut at Redcar back in May. Whilst both command plenty of respect, it could pay to side with Alan Berry's SNOW DANCER who has shown a decent level of form in both outings to date and a repeat of her close second behind Flores Sea at Pontefract last time could suffice.
ATLANTIC LIGHT improved on two previous efforts to chase home the well-regarded newcomer Undertone at Yarmouth almost a fortnight ago and is clearly going the right way. Tee Off had shown ability on more than one occasion prior to being just touched off by Gentle Guru last time and looks the obvious danger, while dual winner Retaliate also warrants plenty of respect.
SHOUT, who contested the Cheshire Oaks on only her second start, looked a little ring rusty when a disappointing favourite last time. That run should have put her spot on, however, and she should possess too much class for today's rivals. High-class hurdler/chaser Flame Creek was not disgraced on his recent Flat debut, but a bigger threat could come from Height Of Fury who has shown improved form of late.
Countdown won over C&D at the last meeting, with BOLD MARC (runner-up), King Harson (third), Hiccups (fourth) Titinius (fifth) and Baylaw Star (ninth) in arrears. However, he carries a 6lb penalty for that success and we could see the selection go one better this afternoon with the weights firmly in his favour. Zhitomir likes it around here and could go well at decent odds.
Dual C&D winner TRINCULO won a similar event here when last seen back in August and can follow up this afternoon. Witchry is another returning from a rest, but his close second to Endless Summer in a Sandown claimer last time puts him firmly in the picture. Throw The Dice and Viewforth finished third and fourth respectively behind Alugat last week, with the weights favouring the latter this time.
BRONZE DANCER won over C&D when last seen back in August and, with his stable having been in terrific form all season, he is taken to make it three wins from his last four starts. Pee Jay's Dream gained a deserved maiden success at Pontefract earlier this month and enters the reckoning, while Mighty Moon won an amateur riders' event for Lady Herries in July and should be monitored for support on his debut for new connections.
