ROUGHAM is conceding weight all round and this is an interesting piece of placing by Philip Hobbs for his first-season hurdler. He scored with plenty in hand last time and can see off Nice One Eric, who is progressive and his Newbury efforts behind Salden Licht and Master Of The Hall confirm that he is more than capable of landing a race like this before the season ends. Shoegazer is also coming along steadily, and the market will be an interesting guide to the chances of Paul Nicholls' import Bermuda Boy.
Quite a well-contested novice, but Nice One Eric has shaped well when runner-up at Newbury on his last 2 starts and can go one better. French Flat recruit Bermuda Boy looks interesting on his first start for Paul Nicholls, while dual-winner Rougham is also likely to be thereabouts.

WISE MEN SAY beat Mon Chevalier over course and distance recently and Colin Tizzard's charge can confirm his superiority on only marginally worse terms. He stayed on well on that occasion and like many from this yard, he is the sort to improve significantly having had his attentions turned to fences. Quick Fix looked right out of sorts after being sent chasing but his latest performance was better and a similar effort would put him right in the mix.
Wise Men Say scored in clear-cut style here 16 days ago, but he rarely strings 2 good efforts together and as such is not one to be taking a short price about. Mon Chevalier could well emerge on top this time, anyway, reopposing on 7 lb better terms.

TRIGGERNOMETRY has winning form here and his stable is going well so it's worth assuming that he is ready following a mid-winter break. Whitewater Dash isn't getting any younger but has only had four chase outings and scored nicely at Kempton on his return to fences. He has been hit hard by the handicapper but many of his rivals are currently out of form and he rates the chief threat to the selection, especially if the rain stays away. Babe Heffron's consistency means he is another for the shortlist.
An uninspiring betting contest with every runner in the field having something against them. Whitewater Dash is by no means the best handicapped, but gets the vote as he boasts recent winning form. Costa Courta and Crank Hill are next best.

TRIGGERMAN is ultra-consistent and ran a fine race behind Alfie Sherrin in a Newbury handicap last time. He will be very hard to beat. Flaming Charlie's future lies over fences but his recent Southwell success following a 10-month absence suggested there are more races to be won with him in this sphere. Chosen Native and the recently disappointing Rebel Du Maquis look next best in a contest worth close inspection with a view to the future.
Triggerman has proved himself effective over C&D and his latest improved effort sticks out like a sore thumb back in this lesser company. Flaming Charlie was impressive when getting off the mark at Southwell last time and could represent the most serious threat, alongside Red Mile, who looks sure to leave his eye-catching debut effort behind in due course.

He found life tougher here when chasing home Bradford Boris but the handicapper has loosened his grip slightly and he can defy top weight. Terrible Tenant is a C&D winner and will be in the shake-up if back to the level he displayed this time last year. Coach Lane is seemingly on the downgrade but first-time blinkers may help rejuvenate him.
The handicapper has given Oncle Kid a real chance, but his jumping problems mean the vote goes instead to Holmwood Legend, who's been in very good form. Sole Agent isn't the most genuine, but could bag a place if in the right frame of mind.

KAHSABELLE recaptured her best form to run away with a prize at Hereford earlier in the week. That seemed to come as a surprise to connections but she obliged in a decisive manner and is taken to supplement that success. Woodlark Island, a winner on the Flat for Marcus Tregoning, has yet to fire over timber but has contested some decent heats and gets in here on a tempting mark. Another Miracle stayed on well to score last time and should improve again after just four NH runs.
Plenty to ponder here. The 2 runaway last-time-out winners, Kahsabelle and Another Miracle, are most likely to fight it out, though Keltic Cliche is an interesting one on her first start for Philip Hobbs.
