SHORE SHANTY backed up her Uttoxeter second to the smart Ishkhara Lady when justifying odds-on favouritism at Ludlow on her hurdling bow and there should be plenty more to come from Harry Whittington's five-year-old, who will be tough to beat if handling testing conditions. Rose Of Arcadia arrived at Ffos Las with a big reputation but was disappointing in fourth, although she has since undergone wind surgery. Belle De Manech (fourth) finished ahead of stablemate Bleue Away (seventh) over C&D, while Fontaine Collonges and Electric Annie others to consider.

Hughie Morrison won this race last year with a nice type and it is interesting that he saddles SCANNING in the same colours. It is worth noting that his dam was a bumper winner and this Pastoral Pursuits gelding will be expected to have enough pace to cope with this. Kandoo Kid finished fourth in a traditionally strong Ascot bumper and wouldn't have to improve much in order to strike. Mucho Mas was purchased for 48,000 pounds as a store by Henrietta Knight and warrants a market check.
