MICRO MANAGE is an exciting recruit to hurdles. The son of Rip Van Winkle has obviously had some training issues but has shown smart form on the Flat, including when landing a Tipperary two-year-old maiden and taking a mile-and-a-half handicap at the Curragh in effortless fashion. Following a 14-month lay-off, Willie Mullins' charge shaped well in Group 3 company before being soundly beaten in the Irish St Leger. Hurricane Cliff won a Gowran Park maiden this summer and made a bright start over hurdles at Cork last month. Get My Drift, Fields Of Dreams and Gee Rex are others to note.

MICRO MANAGE showed plenty of class on the Flat and hurdling has likely always been the long-term plan with him given connections, so he makes obvious appeal having his first go in this sphere. Hurricane Cliff is a threat on the back of a promising hurdling debut and Get My Drift shouldn't be ruled out with further improvement on the cards.

WIDE RECEIVER was a useful sort in bumpers last season winning at Navan and filling the runner-up spot behind Eric Bloodaxe here last Christmas. He's failed to score in three outings since sent hurdling this season but has come up against some smart types including when third to N'golo in a Grade 3 at Navan and runner-up up to subsequent Grade 2 winner Ashdale Bob in a maiden at the same venue. El Barra was bought for 280,000 pounds after finishing runner-up to Fury Road in a four-year-old point-to-point and impressed in a Thurles bumper for new connections last month. ZANAHIYR really impressed when taking the Grade 3 in runaway fashion at Fairyhouse last month and should maintain his unbeaten record over hurdles. The Nathaniel gelding made a successful jumping debut in a Ballinrobe maiden but stepped up considerably on that form in the aforementioned Fairyhouse race slamming Saint Sam by 14 lengths with Druid's Altar fading badly in the straight a distant third. It's hard to see those places being reversed even at the revised weights. Busselton won decisively on his hurdle debut at Auteuil earlier this year, while Ha D'or is another interesting runner having won a French 1m4f bumper in July. Autumn Evening scored on his hurdle debut at Cork and is entitled to progress, while Jeff Kidder opened his hurdle account at the third attempt in a Fairyhouse maiden last month.

Watch out for: Busselton (3)

It's hard to look beyond ZANAHIYR, who heads the betting for the Triumph after a ready success at Fairyhouse in an excellent time, so he's preferred to the French recruits Saint Sam and Busselton, who are both starting out for quality Irish stables.

REBEL GOLD showed promise in maiden hurdles and returned from the lockdown earlier this year in fine form winning at Limerick and beating Winner Takes Itall in a handicap at Punchestown. The Tom Foley-trained gelding has since performed with plenty of credit over fences including when third to Asterion Forlonge and Conflated at Punchestown and is still off a competitive hurdle mark. One Cool Poet hit the headlines when winning three times at the Galway Festival last year and, following a lengthy lay-off, should strip fitter for his return to hurdles off a very attractive mark after a couple of recent runs at Dundalk. Barry Connell has enjoyed a good run since taking out a licence this year and Big King looks sure to go well having won a similar 17-runner event at Navan last month. Envious Editor is another for the shortlist and returns to handicap company after a list of placed efforts in maidens including when runner-up to Gabynako at Naas.

DARVER STAR has nearly ten lengths to find with Felix Desjy having filled third spot behind that rival in a Grade 2 at Punchestown last month but may bridge the gap on this better ground. Gavin Cromwell's charge showed huge progression last year going from a 104-rated hurdler to finishing third behind Epatante in the Unibet Champion Hurdle. He made an impressive chasing debut at Punchestown before finding the testing conditions too much last time. Felix Desjy deserves to go off favourite as the 151-rated hurdler has taken well to fences. His defeat of Sizing Pottsie in that Punchestown Grade 2 has been well advertised since and he could well be better going left-handed. Blackbow was a Grade 2 bumper winner who failed to live up to expectations over hurdles but the point-to-point winner made an impressive start over racecourse fences when making all and jumping well at Navan last month.

Watch out for: Felix Desjy (5)

FELIX DESJY will need to jump better than he did in the Craddockstown Novices' Chase at Punchestown last time to maintain his unbeaten record over fences but he still rates the most persuasive option. Blackbow left his hurdles form trailing in his wake at Navan and is feared most.

QUAMINO provided connections with a big pay-day when landing the Goffs Handicap Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival here last year and now competes off just a 2lb higher mark. The selection won over hurdles at Roscommon this summer and will come here cherry-ripe after a couple of runs on the all-weather at Dundalk. Cusp Of Carabelli had Timoteo about six lengths behind when third to Sizing Pottsie in a Grade B handicap at Fairyhouse last time and looks a serious threat along with Popong and course specialist Grand Partner. Top Moon was a useful sort over hurdles but has yet to threaten in three outings over fences. Any market move would be significant on his handicap chase debut.
