William Muir & Chris Grassick don't have many hurdlers and HAMMY END is an interesting contender as he makes his debut over timber. He comes here on the back of an improved effort at Brighton on the level and he might be able to make an impact, while Mascat boasts a similar profile to the selection and could pose a solid threat on his first start for Ralph Smith. Raased got no further than the first at Exeter on hurdling debut last week, but he might be able to make more of an impression with blinkers applied for the first time.
This could develop into a match between MASCAT and Oslo given their Flat ability. Mascat is the more straightforward so earns the vote.

A wind operation appears to have brought about significant improvement in JONY MAX judging by his narrow defeat at Warwick last month. A reproduction of that level of form today may be good enough to be successful in this contest. O'Faolains Lad won at Newton Abbot last time but a 5lb rise is a slight concern. Others to consider are Catch The Cuban and Write It Down.
The two that stand out are JONY MAX and O'Faolains Lad, both of whom remain open to improvement in this sphere. The latter is not passed over lightly on the back of his Newton Abbot victory, but Jony Max took a big step forward when going close at Warwick and, with this stiffer test expected to be right up his street, he gets the nod.
