Frankie Figg looks the pick of the runners with jumping experience after finishing a creditable second behind Ramsden Boy under desperate conditions over 2m4f at Ayr. He looks sure to go close if seeing out the extra distance on today's quicker terrain, but preference is for BOLD RANSOM. The five-year-old did well to finish third on his only start under Rules in a bumper at Ayr given the race was ran at a farcical early pace and he looks certain to improve now encountering some obstacles. Oakapple Express, a winner of a bumper on good ground at Newcastle, has to enter calculations on his debut over timber.

BALLYNURE sauntered clear for an effortless success over 2m4f at Carlisle and, as that was his first start in nearly five months, can be expected to derive further improvement for that effort. These are his conditions and he can defy a 8lb higher mark. Trading Trouble gained compensation for his crashing fall at Ayr on his penultimate start with a cosy success on soft ground at Catterick. However, there have to be reservations about his effectiveness on today's quicker surface. Ferdy Murphy has his horses in tremendous heart at present and Dolmur looks interesting off a mark 6lb lower than when successful at Doncaster in December '05.

Spring Margot was unfortunate to come across a revitalised Provocative at Kempton latest and looks certain to mount a bold bid under ideal conditions. Ifni Du Luc had plenty in her favour when disappointing at Sedgefield latest, but it looks far too early to be writing her off and she has to be respected under the excellent Richard Burton. IMPS WAY excels on quick terrain and ran out a comprehensive winner on her final hunter chase start here last year. A recent win between the flags should have left her spot-on for this and the twelve-year-old is handed the vote.

A lot of guess-work required and MISTER FIZZBOMB is handed the tentative vote. John Wainwright's gelding should have plenty of improvement to come after only three starts over timber and his latest fourth at Sedgefield suggests a mark of 105 is fair for his first foray into handicap company. Neptune Joly ran a fair race in defeat when chasing home the promising Escayola at Sedgefield and looks the obvious danger, while Temple Place and Categorical both look capable of going well under conditions that should suit.
