NAM HAI can get punters off to the best possible start in the opener as he split two nice types when second at Catterick on New Year's Day and with the prospect of forthcoming improvement, he should be bang there at the business end again. Kim Bailey has found his Fastnet Rock gelding a real opening against these rivals and can make it third time lucky at the chief expense of Danvinnie, who can be forgiven one bad run on deep Lingfield ground, and Will O'the West.

Watch out for: Danvinnie (2)

NAM HAI was only just denied over a longer trip at Catterick last time, losing out to a more experienced rival, but he has shown enough in 2 starts over hurdles to suggest he can win a race of this nature. Will O'The West is gradually improving and should go close if building on his latest run, while Danvinnie sets the standard, but is yet to prove he is effective in this ground.

GOWANAUTHAT arrives buoyed by his narrow Ludlow success at the beginning of the month and could be worth sticking with now confidence is high. His first career win under Rules, he appreciated the step up in distance on similar ground at the Shropshire track and the point-to-point winner is open to more improvement over 3m. Over My Head ticks plenty of boxes in that he's the sole C&D winner, gets in under a nice weight and usually runs his race, so he joins Kapricorne on the shortlist.

OVER MY HEAD did little wrong when runner-up off a higher mark on his sole outing over fences and looks the one to side with following a couple of decent comeback efforts over the smaller obstacles in December. Kapricorne isn't the most reliable, but will likely prove a bigger threat than recent winner Gowanauthat if in the same form as when last seen over Christmas.

CLAN LEGEND has improved no end this season and has progressed notably in handicaps winning at Kelso, Newcastle and Ayr. A gelding that has thrived on deep winter ground, a further 8lb hike in the weights might not be enough to halt his progress and another big performance beckons. This by no means a penalty kick, though, as Vicky's Charm won over the C&D three starts ago and has held her form admirably since, while Argot isn't without claims if building on his latest Huntingdon run.

Blameitalonmyroots struggled in a 0-135 at Newbury when last seen but he should find this race more suitable, despite having to shoulder top weight. At the other end of the ratings BOBBLE BORU makes some appeal after chasing home an in-form rival, who has won since, at Towcester. A winner earlier in the season at Ffos Las, the Ventia Williams-trained mare has dropped back to a workable mark. Noel Kelly has a good strike-rate with his chasers on this side of the Irish Sea and Nosey Box merits respect as a result.

Last year's winner Winston Churchill arrives here on a 9lb higher mark and on the back of a poor effort last time. That being said, he cannot be discounted based on his win two starts ago. JAUNTY INFLIGHT was second over 2m here a month ago and that form has been boosted with the third winning subsequently. After a lengthy break, Ace Fighter Pilot is probably best watched, although he had some decent form when last seen. Others to consider in an-open race include Long John and Truckers Highway.

Watch out for: Winston Churchill (4)

JAUNTY INFLIGHT was clear of a next-time-out winner when a highly promising second on his chase bow over shorter here in December and has sound prospects of going one better back up in trip now. Winston Churchill and Long John may be the ones to fight things out if he fails to meet expectations.

The clear pick on form is the hat-trick seeking MARLEE MASSIE, who showed a great attitude to battle to victory at Newcastle last time. A further 10lb rise in the weights demands more but this is not a very strong race. The veteran Pret A Thou could well prove to be the biggest danger following a solid performance here a few weks ago. Izzy Piccolina also features highly on the shortlist.
