CHEF DES OBEAUX gets his chasing career underway at a track he scored at over the same trip during his novice hurdles career. The Grade 2 winner was somewhat disappointing at the big spring festivals, but is clearly at home with cut in the ground and a repeat of the best of his winter form from last season would see him hard to beat. Any Drama is interesting following plenty of time off the track and his novice hurdle form is rock solid following some runaway triumphs, while Barry Geraghty has plumped for Midnight Maestro over stablemate River Frost as both Alan King candidates start life over the larger obstacles with decent reputations from their time over timber.

Eur Gone West produced his best effort under Rules on his hurdling debut here in October, his first run since undergoing wind surgery, and is noted for an in-form stable along with From The Heart and Esprit Du Large. VOLCANO appeals as the unexposed quantity in the race and he could be on a lenient mark going into handicap company for the first time. He beat a smart animal in Acey Milan on his racecourse debut in an Exeter bumper last season and, deemed good enough for the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, he's posted two solid enough efforts over timber at Chepstow, behind Pym, and Ffos Las thus far.
