This shouldn't take too much winning and it's worth siding with RUN TIL SUNDOWN, who has not won since last August. He's performed with credit, however, in much tougher contests since, however, and should prove far too good, dropped to this grade. Mat The Maiter'd also drops in grade and could be the one for the exacta while General Ron and Beau Winkle can fight out the minor placings.
CARNERA was far from disgraced when a decent fifth in a valuable stakes race over C&D last month. Before that he completed a double in this grade, scoring by more than four lengths over this track and trip two starts ago. He should take all the beating tonight. Elusive Pleasure scraped home by a neck from Cavanal in this grade over seven and a half furlongs last month and the air can fight out the minor honours.
Hard to rule any of these out but it might pay to side with LLORON JOTACE. David Van Winkle's charge hasn't won since last summer but boasts a good strike rate and has been running in much better contests of late. Dropped in class tonight, he can resume winning ways. Rx Registrar, Follow The Wind, Alone At Last, Moose Lake, Kamea and Hoist The Sail have all gone close in similar contests to this recently and can fight out the minor honours.
Afternoon Rain is running well in similar contests but has finished behind Classic Fred three times now. Jeremy Gourmeau's charge has been placed in his last three starts and should be winning soon but he may have to wait a little longer as this looks set to go the way of D'OR MOMENTO. Third in an $18k maiden claimer over C&D last month, he's been running well in much better company and will take all the beating in this grade.
Plenty in with chances here but preference is for CAT BRANDO, who landed a $10.5k claimer over a route at Hollywood Park two starts ago and was second in the same grade over the extended six furlongs here last time. Rob The Moment scored cosily in this grade over a route here last time and looks the one for the exacta while Epicurus and Kick Rocks can fight out the minor placings.
FOX IN THE HOUSE won with plenty in hand over track and trip last time and he could take some stopping in his bid to follow up. Yankee Bravo wasn't disgraced in a slightly better race at Del Mar latest and warrants respect, while Dynamic Range is another that cannot be left out of calculations.
JANZIG AFFAIR is sure to arrive here full of confidence after striking on his last couple of visits to the racetrack and he will be strongly fancied to complete the hat-trick tonight. Other last time out winners, Rosie's Big Sky and Cat's Gold are most feared.
Delicato has been running consistently well of late and should give another good account, but the hat-trick seeking PROPER VICK is preferred. He showed good fighting qualities when striking over track and trip most recently and will take some passing if in the same mood tonight. Solid Trip has each-way claims.
SOUTHOFTHEQUATOR lost little in defeat when runner-up in a similar race over track and trip last time and he gets the confident nod to go one better tonight. Prison Prayer faces his easiest assignment yet and should go close, while Beau Maverick makes up the shortlist.
