The 122-rated Dazzling Susie sets a decent standard over fences, despite failing to complete at Cork on Sunday, as she was only just touched off in a competitive handicap at Galway last month. It might be worth opposing her with DOWN ACE, though, as Noel Meade's mare is entitled to strip fitter for a sighter over hurdles at Gowran Park and was good enough to land a Listed event over timber for former connections. She tries the bigger obstacles for the first time under Rules, but was a winner between the flags, likewise Our Ned, who bids to regain the winning thread after some below-par performances this summer.

It might be worth taking a chance on ALLIED VICTORY, who has his first look at the bigger obstacles under Rules but ran in a point before a spell over hurdles. The suspicion is that chasing will be his game as he is a half-brother to Irish National winner Hear The Echo and he looks to be favourably treated by the terms of this race. Kilcarry Bridge and Prima Vista are closely matched on official figures and have both performed well in defeat recently. They are beginning to look exposed in this sphere but cannot be discounted if showing their best.

LONE STAR appears to have been given an ideal opportunity to get off the mark over timber after an improved effort at Punchestown on his second try at hurdles. That sets a decent level so he is given the vote over King Schultz, who showed ability in three starts on the Flat and deserves close market inspection. Last year's winner HE'LLBEREMEMBERED outperformed a price of 50/1 when finishing a close sixth in the Irish Cesarewitch, putting a disappointing effort in the Kerry National behind him in the process, and this looks an achievable task now dropped in grade. ULTRA LIGHT won with plenty in hand at Downpatrick last week and a 4lb penalty shouldn't scupper her follow-up bid if she reproduces that effort. Stop Road Lad has been in good nick recently and put in another excellent effort in defeat when travelling strongly and finishing second at Gowran Park. He is shortlisted along with Shinahwil, who was third behind a progressive rival at Tramore and has the in-demand conditional Johnny Burke taking a handy 5lb off. Desert Roe was pretty consistent earlier in the summer and deserves a market check on his return from a 91-day absence.
