MINELLA BLISS was perhaps flattered to finish within a length of a well-handicapped winner last week, but it was an encouraging run nonetheless and he is fancied to land this from the same mark. He was keen in the early stages of that race and snatched up just before the home turn as others were mounting their challenge, so the fact he was clear second-best shouldn't be underestimated. Frontier Vic rarely runs a bad race but he is creeping up the weights without getting his head in front. Upbeat Cobbler has dropped to his last winning mark so is worth serious attention, while Vujiyama could improve now stepped up in trip.

The form of that race could well be boosted in the first on this card (Minella Bliss was second) but he won very easily that day and is still well handicapped on his old form. Inandover took this 12 months ago and races off just 1lb higher, so he looks a solid forecast option. Head Spin, yet to win in 16 outings, is a tricky customer and isn't one for maximum faith but he is capable of challenging for minor honours.

Gizzit was an impressive winner at Stratford but the drop back from 2m4f isn't in his favour and, with his inconsistent profile, he is worth taking on with TRI NATIONS. Harriet Bethell's nine-year-old held every chance before making a mistake at the final fence at this track, eventually finishing second, and he is still weighted to strike. Molko Jack looks on a stiff mark but he ought to go well, while Table Bluff is still searching for his maiden victory but can't be ruled out now he is dropped in distance.

ASHCOTT BOY has returned from his summer break an improved performer and although given a hefty 14lb rise for his facile Worcester success, he could still prove to be well handicapped in what looks a modest contest. Camachoice was a three-time winner on the Flat and looks likely to be the main danger in a first-time visor on his NH handicap debut. Spin Cast put in an improved performance at Bangor in this headgear when last seen and holds solid place claims, while Sharadiyn can't be entirely discounted if reproducing his performance over 2m4f at this venue earlier in the month.
