MIDAZ turned in an improved showing when runner-up over C&D latest and is expected to remain competitive despite a subsequent 1lb rise. C&D winner Royal Holiday shaped as if this longer trip would suit when second over 7f and has place possibilities if turning out again after Tuesday's Newcastle outing. Our Ivor drops sharply in grade after recently being cut some slack by the assessor.

Off the same mark, she's expected to be thereabouts, but preference is for C&D winner CADEAUX PEARL, who is dropped in grade and now 19lb lower than his win here in 2011. First-time blinkers could spark some improvement from China Excels, who completes the shortlist.

MIDTERM BREAK lost little in defeat when runner-up over this trip on debut at Ripon and is expected to go one better with the benefit of a run now behind him. Rose Of Kiev took a forward step when fourth at Nottingham and could finish in the shake-up, with the pick of the newcomers probably Rita's Boy, who is related to several sprint winners.

The consistent Black Geronimo has place possibilities though the main danger to the selection may be Karl Burke representative Jaeger Connoisseur, who merits a market check if reappearing after Tuesday night's Wolverhampton appearance.

Kyllachykov took a forward step when fourth over track and trip earlier in the month but of more interest is course winner SOLARMAITE, who is open to further improvement on her third run over this distance. Mick Easterby inmate Politbureau is worth a market check on his return from a 193-day break and is another to keep tabs on in the betting.

Janie Runaway was generally disappointing on turf last summer, but returns in a very winnable heat and market support would have to be taken seriously. However, with her ability to act on fibresand unknown, this could be between Solarmaite and Kyllachykov with preference just in favour of the latter who has dropped to the same mark which saw him narrowly denied over C&D in January.
