Make Time outran his odds of 50/1 when finishing a nose second on his recourse debut at Ascot and if he improves for that run, which he is entitled to do, then he could prove hard to beat. However, preference is for DANCE TEACHER, who was only narrowly denied by a more experienced rival when second on her debut over this C&D on soft ground last month. She then faced a stiff task in the Convivial Maiden at York, where she pulled too hard early on to do herself justice. CAPTAIN MORLEY hasn't been seen since a decent enough effort at Pontefract back in June but, more interestingly, he makes his debut for prominent National Hunt owner JP McManus and although he has never faced soft ground in his career, there is no reason to suggest he won't handle it compared to others in the field. The admirable Master Carpenter will appreciate returning to soft ground and has Lulu Stanford claiming 7lb off his back, while Zamperini has been given a break since his last start and merits plenty of respect off a 5lb higher mark.

Miss Tiger Lily brings arguably the best recent form to the contest having won well at Haydock last time. However, her best form all comes on a sounder surface so preference goes to HEARTY, who has shown considerable improvement since tackling soft ground on his last two starts, where he has been unbeaten, and his style of running should be suited to Jamie Spencer's patient riding. Onorina is entitled to find further improvement now stepped back up in distance, while Ivanhoe is consistent at this sort of level and should run his usual honest race.

VERSANT has shown hints of ability on his three starts to date in maidens and is entitled to improve for a step up in distance making his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark of 71. Wynford relished the step up in distance at Carlisle earlier in the month when powering clear to win by six lengths and may well have more to offer, while Roderic's Secret enjoyed soft ground last time at Ffos Las when runner-up to Pacharana and the extra two furlongs here shouldn't pose any issue on this ground.
