On outing number two over racecourse fences YA BOY YA could be the one here. A consistent sort, the San Frontieres gelding ran in a decent beginners chase at Kilbeggan last time, when third behind A Wave Of The Sea and Lever Du Soleil. In truth A Wave Of The Sea was a class apart on that occasion, hardly surprising given that he was a Grade One winning juvenile hurdler. The bigger emphasis on jumping now could play to Ya Boy Ya's strengths. He was of course twice victorious in the point-to-point fields. Gordon Elliott's pair, Dakota Moirette and Silver Star, will be on all short lists. Shumaker won a point-to-point and here he starts off over the larger obstacles on the track proper.

A slight mistake two out didn't halt TOUCH OF OSCAR's momentum at Navan last time. He was always to the fore on that occasion, and favourite and runner-up Benefit Run found him too tough on the run-in. Touch Of Oscar stayed on best to score by two and a half lengths, building on a comeback effort at Tramore in August. That had been his first outing in 165 days. Joseph O'Brien's runner had a break after a shocking effort at Clonmel in March. He was pulled up in the spring at Powerstown Park, and was subsequently found to be showing signs of heat stress. It will hopefully be onwards and upwards for the selection now. Hear No Evil will be an outsider. Cases can be made for all the others. Tiger Voice is certainly a big danger to all.

SCHOLASTIC just failed when losing out by a short head to Longclaw at Listowel last time. The front pair were eleven lengths clear of the third then, At War, and that Harvest Festival effort comes across as solid form. After all Longclaw was bringing up a hurdling hat-trick then. Not surprisingly three time Flat winner Scholastic looks as though she'll progress with experience at this game. Jeff Kidder is a major contender as he begins for new owners. The Little Emperor Syndicate and Gordon Elliott had a first time out juvenile hurdling winner when Duffle Coat impressed at this venue earlier in the month. Market confidence behind their representative here, Lucky Fella, would be very interesting.

A couple of course and distance winners, Beacon Edge and DEWCUP, will justifiably be the focus of much attention. Beacon Edge hasn't been seen out since March but with a 142 rating he's the one to aim at. It won't be easy for him on just his second outing over flights but in receipt of four pounds Dewcup gets the nod. The Finsceal Fior gelding was impressive here three weeks back and this will tell us more. Beacon Edge lost out by just a nose in Grade Two company at Naas in February. If the selection can lower his colours connections will be entitled to campaign the five-year-old at a high level. A few of these look capable of making an impression. The short-list is probably best completed by Curlew Hill and Fusain.

The Downtown Syndicate and Ross O'Sullivan have second reserve Bythesametoken in the mix, but THE RUBINATOR has made the line-up for the owner and trainer and he could prove up to the task. The Gold Well gelding arrived at the Downtown Syndicate's local track, Galway, fit and fancied off a 306 day break in late July. A little keen then, The Rubinator ran okay to finish third to the progressive Bua Boy. He hasn't been so good in two outings since. Perhaps a first time tongue strap can be the making of the six-year-old. British Art looks likely to make a decent attempt to follow up on a recent Downpatrick win. However, all told, there are many that enter this equation.

Winners from Bellharbour point-to-point often turn out to be horses worth following. MINELLA ESCAPE triumphed at the County Clare venue back in the spring for John Nallen.
