The most significant piece of form on offer here could be when Lambro beat LAST INSTALMENT over 2m4f at Fairyhouse just eight days ago and placings are expected to be reversed with the extra half-mile on offer likely to play into the latter's strengths. He was unbeaten in three starts under NH rules prior to getting caught out by a decent turn of foot the last day and this giant son of Anshan will be better suited by today's race conditions. This race looks to provide the legendary KAUTO STAR with a great chance to land his fifteenth Grade 1 win. He looked a shadow of his former self when a well beaten third in the rearranged King George at Kempton in January, but connections reported that everything wasn't 'A1' that day and he bounced back stylishly in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham. He has been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and there is no reason why he shouldn't make it three from three this side of the Irish Sea. His main danger could be another English raider, Nacarat, who proved that he can be very dangerous if given a soft lead when scoring readily at Aintree. Kempes didn't show his true colours at Cheltenham but he wouldn't be without a chance if recapturing the sort of form which saw him land the Hennessy at Leopardstown in February.

The four-year-old son of Elusive Quality, recently bought by J P McManus, has improved in each of his three visits to the racecourse thus far and he receives weight from all barring Jenari. Lovethehigherlaw swerved a trip to Cheltenham to focus on this race and should mount a bold bid if handling the quickest ground he's encountered yet, while Aupcharlie and Go All The Way finished third and fourth respectively in the Champion Bumper at Prestbury Park and both deserve to take their chance. Steps To Freedom represents a Gordon Elliott stable that can do little wrong at present and he impressed with his Grade 2 victory at Aintree's Grand National meeting.

FAHA will be fancied to go one better than her encouraging debut second at Clonmel 13 days ago. There can be little argument that Derek O'Connor gave her too much to do on that occasion, but that made the performance even more impressive and she will know a lot more about the game now.
