Highly Regal and Stevie Thunder have shown enough promise over timber but BEGGAR'S OPERA looks a useful recruit from the Flat. He earned an official mark of 81 when in the care of John Gosden last term and if he takes to obstacles at the first time of asking, he looks to have the requisite class to make a big impact.
Denton Ryal will be more at home back under these faster conditions and can prove too strong for Highly Regal and Stevie Thunder. Beggar's Opera has joined a capable yard ahead of his hurdling bow and is another accorded plenty of respect.

The fitting of a visor had a positive effect on PATRIXBOUNE when she won at Sedgefield last July and although not seen since, she has obviously been kept fresh for a summer campaign. Top weight The Wee Midget has an edge in terms of race-fitness and shouldn't be overly inconvenienced by a 3lb rise for his recent Hereford win. Shropshirelass and Rossmill Lad are also shortlisted.
Patrixbourne landed a gamble on her first start for Tim Vaughan last June and is fancied to shrug off both an 8 lb rise and 11-month absence here. Recent Hereford scorer The Wee Midget looks the main threat ahead of Rossmill Lad.

Casual Garcia returned to winning ways when the usual tongue-tie was removed here last month but he's not banker material to back that win up and preference is for LIKE ICE. He gained a deserved win when gamely getting on top under today's rider at Towcester and a 4lb rise in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Our Guardian Angel is fit from a couple of point-to-point outings and cannot be ignored.
Unwise to place much faith in most of these, including Casual Garcia, but he's gone up just 4 lb for his win here last month and is still lightly raced over fences. Towcester winner Like Ice could also get involved if staying the longer trip.

DOMINO DANCER has been performing quite well in defeat of late and having only tired late on when third at Stratford last time out, he should be suited by the drop back to the minimum trip. C&D winner Just Beware is respected after a creditable effort in a stronger event here last month, while Celtic Ballad gave the impression he was down to a workable mark when second last time, albeit in a selling contest at Lingfield.
The trio at the top of the weights look those to concentrate on with the steadily progressive Domino Dancer preferred to Just Beware, who is running well right now, and Closesthingtocrazy, for whom the drop back to 2m will suit.

PADDY PARTRIDGE bumped into a fair sort in Red Merlin when runner up at Hereford last time and is expected to fare better now upped in trip for his handicap debut this afternoon. Forty Thirty is on a long losing run but was far from disgraced when fourth at Cheltenham last month and has place prospects now stepping back up in trip. De Welsh Wizzard advertised his well-being when a credible second here last month and, as a previous C&D winner, is another to consider.
Quite a competitive handicap for the time of year, with plenty of recent winners on show, and they include the progressive Sinbad The Sailor, who gets the nod ahead of top weight Forty Thirty. De Welsh Wizzard teams up with the same conditional as for his 2 good recent C&D efforts and that suggests he is another to consider.

MISTER MATT stumbled two out when second in a small field here last month but is expected to build upon that effort now stepped back up to a more suitable trip. Health Is Wealth was the selection's conqueror that day and has since followed up in another 2m1f novices handicap here. However, he re-opposes off 12lb worse terms and the placings may well be reversed over this longer trip. C&D winner Take A Mile makes most appeal of the remainder.
Health Is Wealth will rightly be popular to land the hat-trick but the longer trip could well play into the hands of Mister Matt, who shaped as though in need of a greater stamina test when beaten 6 lengths by Colin Tizzard's gelding in April. She's Humble could well finish in the money at Plumpton again.
